I had laser treatment on sunburned skin:(( Help!!

I get laser treatments on my back and back of my neck. My neck only was sunburned after going hiking for many hours. I got Candela’s Gentlase laser on that area just a few days later and the area now looks horrendous. I can tell my skin looks very damaged.

Are there any treatments I should do that are specific to this problem?
Will I have permanent hyper-pigmentation?
Should I “treat” it like a burn?

Thanks!

Doesn’t look to bad there Adam; I think this will be just fine.

I would talk to the laser folks for recommendations for this condition, i.e., “products.” And yes, treat this “like a burn,” because that’s what it is.

I would not worry too much either.

Ye, doesn’t look bad to me, nor is this a sign of permanent hyper pigmentation. Use SPF 30 moisturizer. Vitamin K cream is recommended by some for healing and obviously avoid treatments until skin heals.

It looks much worse - the camera’s flash kinda takes away the redness.

What signs would tell me that there may be hyper-pigmentation?

And if it doesnt look so bad, then why are there continuous warnings not to laser sunburnt skin? My skin on that area was very sunburnt when I came in for the treatment.

First off, why would you get laser done on sunburnt skin to begin with? It should heal without any problems as long as you leave it be. I would recommend using aloe vera on the area.
