Hi all. I’m back. I moved a couple months ago to PA and had a hard time finding a good electrologist. I’ve been going to this particular one for a couple of months now. Last visit I came in with numbing cream on but didn’t put it on an hour in new advance so I was feeling more than usual. Not once did I ask her to change modality or settings. I always have her treat me with blend as I’ve been getting blend for years now and that’s the kind that is less likely to have me react.
Anyways for whatever reason she didn’t even tell me she switched to galvanic when she got to my upper lip, and started zapping a couple hairs there. I NEVER told her to do this and I only found out because I literally felt that something was wrong. It felt like a huge electricity zap was being sent straight into my skin. And this easy for several seconds maybe 5. I’ve had years of electrolysis and never had this sensation occur. Ever. Im positive she cranked up the intensity because it only took two of these zaps to release the hair (the hairs usually take her 6-7 zaps with blend) It was very alarming so I told her to stop. Well when I got up to look in the mirror I had this huge white welt on my face. The swelling went down but the whiteness is still here. I have a picture from 3 days after the electrolysis. See attached pictures.
The skin on the side of lip feels tight still. But the picture doesn’t give it justice because it’s lighter than what it looks like here.
My questions to you: does this look like hypopigmentation? It hasn’t improved in 4 days and the skin feels tight. I imagine once the scabs are gone it skin will look splotchier. I also attached a pic of what the other side of my upper lip looks like so you can compare. Is hypopigmentation permanent???
What are my options to help the color come back? I would only use it in those two spots…sigh.
