Hypopigmentation after laser treatment burns (photo)

The procedure took place in this clinic:

How are they looking now? I’m starting to get discouraged with mine. I’ve been doing the retinol cream, scar cream, and raw ginger on my shoulders. This is now 8 months post procedure.

Where can I go to receive the radiation treatments?

Contact local dermatologists and ask if they offer red light therapy (RLT) for scarring or if they offer LED therapy. While there, ask about silicone sheet options etc.

How are they able to determine that your melanin was still working? I would like to see someone about that!

How has the re-pigmentation on your arm gone? I’m dealing with the exact same situation and am completely horrified. I had ipl for sun spots and got what seemed like fairly superficial burns on just one arm. They turned a maroon-like color, then left horrible white slashes behind. I am a surfer and cannot avoid the beach or swimsuits, so I’m pretty devastated and am hoping to see if I can expect improvement.

Since u r a surfer & I have saw your photos. I don’t think u will scar. But my worry is skin cancer can develop later in life and they can quickly metastasise to other parts of the body. Most people know how to protect their skin when exposing to the sun, but they forgot about skin protection after the sun.

After sun exposure, heat from sun ray still remains within your skin. Not only you need sunscreen/ sunblock during sun exposure, but non-alcohol containing aloe vera gel after sun is as most as important. I highly recommend the following aloe vera from this organic farmer => https://www.aloeveraaustralia.com.au/product-category/aloe-vera-gel/
The real deal!

Otherwise, Aloe barbadensis or Aloe arborescens are the only 2 varieties prove to have healing properties. For more info, please visit https://beauty-electrolysis-laser.blogspot.com/2020/02/what-are-recommended-products-post.html

Thank you! I hope you’re right about the not scarring. And thank you for the recommendation about post sun care. That’s an area I’m not as diligent about. Fingers crossed these ridiculous white patches go away soon…

Did your arms get any bettter??? :disappointed:

Yes!!! I am all healed!!!

how long did it take? im in the same boat.

Hello ma’am, I am attaching a picture of my skin problem on hand which I noticed after getting waxed. Please enlighten me on that! I can’t understand how this happened. Some people say it’s vitiligo! I don’t think so but am bit scared

that photo is too dark to see anything, sorry.

Hi everyone,
Reading your stories gives me hope. I was burned 2 months ago and have terrible hypo pigmentation. Dermatologists don’t know if the color will return and I’m feeling hopeless. Any recommendations of what you all found really helps? Light therapy? Laser therapy? The facility that I got LHR from doesn’t want to give any of the money back so I think I have to get a lawyer which makes me nervous! Any helpful suggestions on how to go about a personal injury case even though I signed paperwork saying pigmentation could occur? My mental health is deteriorating and I feel so ugly. Please help.

Dear Hkg. I wrote this post 3 years ago. Today everything is fine, and you are not see nothing at my legs. But it took more than 1 year to retreat! Only time helps in this case. No creams, no ointment, no other laser - it’s all a waste of money. Give time to do the work. A year after this difficult case I went to Greece, sunbathed a bit, and within two weeks the spots were gone. But for a whole year I let the skin rest, I did not expose to the sun. My mental state was severely damaged that year. I cried all the time. I sued the Laser cabinet, and I won the lawsuit. With this money I went to Greece for a luxury vacation. I came back from there with no signs! It was true justice. But for a whole year I cried because I did not know what would happen. That’s why I’m writing to you - I know how you feel. It will take time, but sure will disappear!! Everyone who had it happen to her - is gone for her! Took a while, but disappeared.

This is my legs today, 3 years after the case.

Irenael is right. Time heals everything. You have hypo marks because you were treated with a tan. You have to wait for your tan to fade. You can then go into the sun approx 90 days from now and slowly slowly your pigment will blend.

Beautiful to read and I’m so happy for you. Indeed, the psychological aspect is absolutely actionable. Right now, at this very moment, there is a landmark case just starting. I’ve read the briefs on the case, but won’t divulge the information so as not to prejudice the case in any way.

Basically, the young woman had tiny black hairs “everywhere” and was lasered “everywhere” and had phenomenal hair stimulation from laser. She’s now looking at a few years of electrolysis … and, of course, the psychological ramifications.

With ALL PROCEDURES (electrolysis and laser) patients should first have a small trial treatment, AND give that small area time to see what happens. Personally, I never just “have a go” without the test spot to both see the healing and, more importantly, the patient’s reaction. If they start “freaking out” about a tiny red dot or normal inflammation? And if they are inconsolable no matter what I say, well, I won’t continue … I’ve learned the hard way. Even when the “problem spot” totally clears up … not me … I “clear out!”

I got burned on my stomach. It was red for several days and then turned brown. It eventually peeled and left me with hypopigmentation on my stomach. Has any one been using self tanner in the meantime until the skin ton evens out??

Self tanner is good to hide the color while it heals. You might also consider silicone sheets, which can help healing.
