Hi! I’m a 20 year old trans girl who’s been on hormone therapy for just over 10 months. As I’m in a European country, the only anti androgen here is cyproterone acetate (Androcur). It causes raised prolactin levels, and my last blood test confirms that. Says normal female reference range is 59-619 mIU/L and for men it’s 45-375 mIU/L. My prolactin is at 952 mIU/L, which makes me hyperprolactinemic. I’ve read that laser is ineffective in people with raised prolactin levels, or pregnant women for the same reason. I’m wondering if it’s the case for me too since my raised levels stem from my testosterone blocker that also serves as hirsutism medication and is supposed to lessen hairiness. I’m stuck with my prolactin leves since no other antiandrogen is available in my country. Would love to hear your feedback
P.S. my prolactin prior to starting hormones was 264 mIU/L
