Hyperpigmentation - dark skins

hi guys, need some advice, i am of indian origin and have had some electrolysis done on my face and underarms, suffering from very dark spots or hyperpigmentation, its been over a month since ive had these and not improved

Underarm hair - many many years ago i had laser done, around 6 sessions not sure whether this contributed to me having less hair or not but my hair here was around 2 inch by 3 inch and very fine hair, i let my hair grow for around 2-3 months (i didnt bother with my underarm hair much)

Facial/neck hair - again i did not bother touching this hair as i know electrolysis is THE best and very fine you could say virgin hair

Any advice people also how can i upload pictures on here?! so i can show you

From your other post:

Can you give us some armpit history? Before you started electrolysis what were you doing to remove the hair and how long before you started did you stop whatever you were doing?

How long did the clearance take? What have you been doing since to any growing hairs (i.e. shaving)?

In regards to the hyperpigmentation, there is nothing wrong. It will fade. It just takes different durations of time for different people and between body areas. I would recommend using a product on them that contains at least 10% glycolic acid… it will help to gently exfoliate the skin.

Hey! duhh i just noticed this thread i started haha! ok so when i was around 15 years old i had laser done (10 year ago) and no sucess or was there since i had very fine somewhat sparse hair

Over a year ago i was waxing infrequently, my underarm hair does not bother me too much since i dont wear sleeveless etc so i have never really bbeen ontop of it if that makes sense.

I stopped waxing nearly a year ago and have been shaving (once a month or so) since with the odd wax inbetween

prior to treating my underarms with elec i let them grow for around 2-3 months and have had my first clearance with them both, its around 6 weeks now since ive had them treated with pigmentation still around and very few hairs,

thank you!

since the clearance ive let the hair grow and clearance for BOTH underarms = 2 and a half hours total

Another consideration:

Please google ‘acanthosis nigricans’ or ‘velvet underarm’. This can be a hormonal happening that won’t fade with time. There are other causes, too, and if the underlying condition is found and treated, then it may disappear.
