How to know follicles in body area are"maxed out"?

I am a female with severe hair growth that is not hormonally induced. I’ve heard that the “3 treatments and you’re done” strategy cannot work if there is a chance there are dormant follicles in the area, like the face of a woman. Looking at my body, I cannot see how I could possibly have even MORE potential hair. Is it possible that all my follicles are activated in certain areas? I will attach a picture soon.

These are my thighs. I chose this region to show you guys because I’ve never ever ever removed hair in this region, ever.
Let’s say I had a “3 treatment and done” approach on my pictured thighs, how certain can I be that the hairless results will be permanent? Meaning I have no dormant follicles that can grow hair in the future, whether it be near or far because all the follicles I have are growing hair.

The clearances have to be spaced out about every 4 months to capture the dormant hairs as they resurface. The first clearance gets most of the work done. Josefa has many photographs here of body clearances using this strategy.

See my post to “urgent.” And once you are clear you will never never never grow new hairs on your legs. DONE IS DONE! Don’t worry about “nothing!”

“I’ve heard that the ‘3 treatments and you’re done’ strategy cannot work if there is a chance there are dormant follicles in the area, like the face of a woman.”

NOT happening on your legs … no way, no how! A woman’s face is blanketed with microscopic vellus hairs that have the potential, with hormone stimulation, to grow larger. The “issue” is NOT “dormant hairs” on the face.

You don’t have any vellus hairs on your legs and your leg hairs are all grown-in and are not influenced by hormones (well, they WERE, but these were the “early-puberty-reaction hairs” that grew in much like your underarms and pubic hairs; almost overnight … right?)

Check out want Chris O’Connell said … 100% right on!

Thanks guys for your replies. I guess I can stop worrying about any future hair growth after electrolysis completion, at least on my legs.
I had armpit hair, pubic hair, and leg hair before I hit puberty even. I was a sad child. But they did increase in thickness and quantity significantly after puberty, yes.

This may be a stupid question, but is electrolysis “worth it” on the face of a woman? I have many hairs on my face(basically everywhere except directly below my eyes), spaced very little apart. They are not thick nor easily visible, but they are visible. I can easily see if they were stimulated that they could look like a man’s beard. Attaching a picture wouldn’t be helpful as I have shaved within the last week. I will attach a picture of other places in my body. I took out my good camera  Please right click->view image to see high res.

From one of the posts, I think Josefa’s, she said the face, neck, and chest of a woman were not good candidates for the “3 treatment” strategy. Are there any other areas like these where I cannot have a guarantee of no hair growth after completion?

Sorry for all the questions, I’m gonna be attempting full-body electrolysis soon. I’m not sure with whom, but I know that I will.

Hey gorillagal!

I have real faith in electrolysis. That being said, do any of the experts here think that laser could work (in some areas) for your situation? I know your skin is slightly darker, but the hairs are also pretty dark.

If you’re going with electrolysis, it will work if you’re patient with it and if you have a good electrologist! Personally, though, I’d start with the areas that bother you the most–your collarbone, for instance, looks completely fine (and yes I looked at the zoomed-up pictures), and your calves could just be shaved, since virtually all women shave their calves. I think this’ll take awhile, but I also think it’ll be worth it.

PM me if you ever want an electrolysis buddy, as I’m also young and getting electrolysis done on my stomach and thighs (and female, if that needs to be stated).

Thanks for the support skydivingjess, I’d definitely like an electrolysis buddy!

I also have faith in electrolysis. I considered laser a long time ago but I’m pretty dead-set on electrolysis now. I’ve shaved my calves before, the hair is so thick you can see little black dots underneath the skin, so shaving is probably off the table for me. For electrolysis, I suspect I will need upwards of 300 hours for a full-body clearance. That’s 5 hours each day for 2 months…now what electrologist would be so gracious as to host me for that amount of time…a girl can hope.

When I start electrolysis, I think it’ll be working my way up the legs and completing the entire lower half of the body (including the pubic region). Then, I’d probably do arms, underarms, back, and finalizing with my belly, chest, shoulders and face - in that order.

I saw Josefa’s post before it seemed to be deleted - I like those results a lot. Also, now I can safely say my body hair rivals that of a hairy man.

Well hey, if you have the money for that, it sounds like a great idea! It’s good to be dead set on something like this, anyway…

You can manage the hair on a day to day basis pretty well then? That’s great, if you’re saving the face for last. Anyway, I hope you find someone to do your work for you!!

Also, I don’t know if your hair keeps getting worse every year, but my hormones were “normal” and this was the case for me. Turns out I have (most likely) a sensitivity to testosterone, and I’ve found that the drug Spiro has still helped me, despite my “normal” testosterone. If you hair has remained steady for years now, I wouldn’t consider Spiro, but if you keep noticing “new” spots of hair (like your neck, or face, or wherever), it might be worth looking into. A lot of doctors are actually pretty ignorant about female hormonal conditions (haha, what a surprise!).

Believe it or not, you are not an isolated case. Technically, women are born with the same number of follicles than men. It is a simple matter of size and areas where hair develops. If any guy can get rid of all the hairs on his body, a girl can get it too.

Courage!

I’m in the process of acquiring the money, I think it’s a 30K minimum for full-body complete first clearance. Haha…oh boy.

I manage the hair by dressing in clothing that covers every part of my body. It has severely affected my social life, and pretty much every other facet of my life, and that’s an understatement. I just shave my face and that’s it, and only because I have to.

I also have “normal” testosterone levels, and Spiro has been recommend to me as well, but eh. I haven’t noticed any new hair growth for quite a while, because I think I’ve reached my limit… knocks on wood
I do hope you’re able to get the treatment you’re looking for, and at a reasonable price!

Thanks Dr.Josefa, it’s good to know that I’m not a freak of nature  There are other females like me out there!
