How Permanent is Laser Hair Removal???

I am looking at having my underarms and lower legs done. But I keep reading this its not permanent even after 5-6 treatments. I’m apprehensive b/c I don’t want to spend $2000 and still have to shave. So I’m curious to see what other peoples results have been.

I have very light skin and dark brown hair.

If you have gone through it, how were your results?

Thanks!!!

Laser is permanent hair reduction. Many people are highly successful in having most of the hair affected by laser on their underams and lower legs. Not all the hair will be affected, but who cares if you only have to shave thinner hair every week instead of everyday. If you want total removal, you need to finish up with a skilled, modernly equipped electrologist. Dark brown hair may be okay for laser. Laser works best for very dark coarse hair.

I hope slome consumers will respond, but until then, you can read the laser faq’s page or read the laser forum in general. There are plenty of posts to keep you busy.

If done properly (e.g. a diode laser with a high fluence, 5-8 treatments on dark hair) it’s really forever. I had laser treatments on my arms and legs 6 years ago and they remain hairless today.

It should last you at least several years. The experts don’t really know how long it lasts for. I’ve seen a number of people have their underarms/bikini hair grow back after 7-12yrs. Usually everyone is happy with several years of being hair free.

LHR cannot stop new growth. It will destroy the hair that is currently growing. As you age you will continue to develop new hairs but it will never be as thick or as dense as the hair before you began LHR.

I am in agreement. Laser hair reduction is permanent for dark, coarse hair that is in the growing stage, if performed expertly with a good laser brand. This regrowth thing of 7-12 years is a myth.

You will get excellent results on lower legs and underarms.
Go for it!
