How painful is your laser treatment?

I get laser on my back and shoulders and every pulse is really painful.

I’d like to hear what other people feel as well. I mean I really dread going to my specialist because it just hurts so much, especially on the right and left sides of the back. Sometimes I need to take a 2 minute break cause it hurts.

The good thing is that the pain goes away quickly and I don’t fell pain after the treatment. But that hour and a half is just hell.

Is there anyway to subdue it?

i dont know- with mine (I do face) they use a gel and VERY cold air which is uncomfortable but not that painful-
have you asked your practicionar to provide some sort of pain releif, a lot of clinics have a doctor on on staff that might be able to recomend something.

Try taking 2 advils or ibiprofens about 1 hour before the treatment. on your shoulders, you can also use a % lidocaine numbing cream like emla. Personally, I don’t mind the pain as long as I know it will give me results. Try to think of something else and/or of the final outcome during the treatment

Try using the numbing cream like lagirl suggests. It really helped me a lot. But even with the cream, certain areas of the back are just more sensitive and hurt more. However, with the cream, it wasn’t pleasant, but at least it was bearable.

No pain, no gain!

The top of the back, near the neck, is what hurts the most.

What laser is being used on you?

RJC2001

I have been getting laser hair removal on my face and bikini for over a year, and just started legs today.

Honestly I just keep thinking “no pain no gain”. I have not found anything to alleviate the pain, but usually I get myself so psyched before I even enter the office, I think it is going to hurt worse then it really does.
