How much stubble safe before treatment?

Before my first treatment, I was shaved smoothly the night before. Since you couldn’t see all of the follicles, I was left with many patches of untreated hairs (circles of shedding, surrounded by about the same size circles of full growth hair).

I’d like to go in with a bit of stubble this time so the technician will see the areas actually burned off in real time, so if I leave with any stubble, I can tell her she missed spots.

How long do you think it too long where I’d risk burning and loss of laser efficacy?

I think you can shave 48hrs before and be okay.

What I would do is actually leave the hairs along the perimeter of an area. My clinic had a policy of ensuring everything was shaved before treatment anyway, so if a client had missed anything they would go over it with a razor - after drawing the outline and grid, of course.

It sounds to me like your clinic is not drawing a grid, it really helps ensure the tech doesn’t miss any spots, so it’s worth looking into. I remember one poster did it herself.
