How much does hair grow after one's 30's?

Hello, I had 6 treamtments on my chest and abdomen and have had good results so far. I would say around 60% gone overall and much thinner then before.

I’m in my mid 20’s and males on both sides of my family are fairly hairy. On my father’s side, the men have hair on their backs, including my father, who has a good amount.
Surpringly though, he has quite a bit LESS hair on his chest/abs than when I started my chest/abs treatments!

On my mother’s side, they don’t have hair on their backs but are hairy on the front. Also, they don’t suffer from male pattern baldness, as opposed to my father’s side.

It seems I have the hair pattern’s of my mother’s side, as I’m not losing any hair (on my head) yet, whereas my father was thinning out a bit at my age already.

Also, I have a maybe 10 small hairs scattered accross my back, so I don’t really suffer from back hair. I do however have an oily skin with naturally wide pores.

So, my questions are: (for dermatologists or people who have a similar genetic background as I do)

How much did hair grow past your thirties, especially on your chest/back?

Or does my age (mid 20s) somewhat guarantees that the majority of my hair has grown, considering it has not grown much at all since I was 20…?

I’m hoping the 10 or so hairs on my back will not keep growing, which concerns me a little. I’m already taking care of my chest, the last thing I want to have another part of my body requiring some work!

Thanks!

So tough to say.

Unless someone can sequence your genes there really is no way of knowing how much more hair you will grow.

Generally speaking, as we age we do grow more hair, or hair that remained dormant for many years begins to grow. Just the way it is.

Looks like you are having good results with laser. Just keep up the work and you’ll be fine. You can always look into electrolysis to clean up the strays on your back.

On the other hand, the older you get the more your testosterone level drops, which plays a factor in hair growth.

I don’t have the time to answer this exhaustively, but we do have lots of information on the site already on this question. Maybe the search feature can bring up the info.

Maybe someone who can find that info can post a link to another conversation on here that addresses this issue better.

Sorry folks, I am just too busy, its summer after all.

they say that you take the pattern baldness from your mother’s father, so this seems to be correct in you case. other than that, noone can really answer your question. there are too many variables involved. you could start taking some drug that can have that affect on your body for example. you just never know.

Thanks for the answer.

There is no way I am taking any “drug”…I’m just going to let it all play out and see what gives later on.

yea but summer sucks when ur on laser. can’t enjoy cuz i must not tan to keep it effective.
