I just wanted to know how common, as a percentage of first time clients who say they don’t want a followup because of the pain?
Not many at all. Most non-returnable clients don’t want to continue with the treatment due to the length and cost. People don’t know much about electrolysis, and when they find out what it is they find it “too long” a process.
Some people just can’t stand a single hair showing on their skin, so they can’t let it all grow for next session.
Genuinely determined clients will bear the discomfort regardless, to be hair-free. There is always the anaesthetic cream option. Pain is just an excuse for some.
I have clients who are very sensitive to the sensation and can only stand around 15-min treatment but they come back nevertheless.
