Hi Guys I’m in for an electrolysis session again tomorrow will be officially 6 months since I started 14th August 2013. The hairs on my chin today are thinner and paler whether it will stay this way I don’t know there could always be another dark black one pop back up eventually to spoil the day. Anyways Its been 5 week since my last session because I can chat to people without worry for what they think of me I don’t like the hairs but they are better than I’ve ever had, I don’t think unless someone came right up to my face and tilted my head they would notice them, I have a couple of dark ones on my left nipple and with it being valentines day tomorrow I want them gone and will do the brown long ones on my chin at the same time, in a 10 minute session. Have I left these hairs too long some came threw after 2 weeks some at 3 weeks so I would have normally gone at the 4 week mark but as they didn’t bother me I have waited to get them done tomorrow to enjoy my night out Saturday without worrying about the hairs on our date. Long discussion short how long can you leave hairs before treatment for the treatment to still be effective hoping that the hairs will come back pale again next time and again I wouldn’t be worried about leaving them a little longer than normal if that was the case but want rid of them all eventually so need to keep up effectiveness. Thanks sorry for long post.
When properly treated the hairs won’t come back at ALL, “pale” or otherwise. What you are seeing is probably new growth, which it pays to remove as soon as possible.
Some hairs need several zaps to go away and can’t be treated first time I have been going for 6 months I know the hairs will not come back straight away but some of the hairs I have now could well be paler hairs from my session 4 months ago or 3 months ago hair takes around 6 weeks to 12 weeks to grow through sometimes longer and can not always be treated first time but should always be weakened If I went in as soon as 1 hair came threw which was pale I would have to go in the next day and the day after that and then the day after that for around 8 days then have a 3 week gap it makes more sense to me to wait until I have a good amount of hairs to cover a 10 minute session other wise I’d be going in for 1 quick zap I am simply asking whether going in every 3 weeks or every 6 weeks and waiting for more hairs to come threw as they are now paler but still growing through would make a big difference to the effect of the electrolysis session. The kill rate from one zap on all hairs is not 100% every time that’s just simply not the case.
The better the electrolysis the higher the kill rate but some hairs will unfortunately come back but should be weaker and easier to kill on the next try. This has been explained to me fully by my electrolysis who showed me a chart of how long it takes to come back and roughtly how the hairs should hopefully go with one zap but may need up to 3 zaps to be fully gone and it takes a while for them to grow back threw hence needing treatment at the longest for up to 2 years.
Taken straight from the british institue of electrolysis website to which my electrolysis belongs and informed me to read through.
The first sign that electrolysis treatment is working is that the hair growth becomes softer, finer and lighter in colour. You will see and feel the difference throughout the course of treatment, so you do not have to wait until the end of your course to see a difference.
It took me a while to realise that if the hairs come back within 1-2-3-4-5-6 weeks they will be different hairs but some of the hairs you had treated may come back months later but hopefully will be weaker if they were not killed on first treatment. The time it takes for my hair to grow in is about the same but the hair is no longer course I can’t feel it with my finger when touching breast or chin like I used to and is now a pale brown rather than thick black I may once every 3 sessions get a black one pop back up but in general what the website says is coming true to how the hairs should look.
