how should we use this before full bikini? I read something about putting a thick layer on and covering with cling film? any other ways because the cling film seems a bit uncomfortable?
Whoever prescribed it to you should explain how to use it. You don’t have to cover it with film, but it helps to keep it in place.
Never mind.
A few hours? That’s too long for most creams and can be dangerous. Follow instructions, but it’s typically 45-60 mins.
Definitely not a few hours.
Most areas are indeed 45-60 min. For genitalia, 10-30 min. Hopefully your clinic has given you specific instructions.
My derm covers my sensitive areas (clit, labia(?)) with a sort of cotton pad to make sure Emla doesn’t get on it. A few seeped through and it began to sting. I was prepared to suck it up cause I thought it was normal. When I mentioned it to her, she said it wasn’t. So she re-did everything. Dripped water on the stingy sensitive parts until the burning sensation went away. She covered it with thicker cotton pad, secured it with tape, and then re-applied the Emla on the surrounding parts. To keep the Emla in place, she uses a sort of adhesive paper. When she ran out of it, she just used cling wrap for my legs.
Sorry, I had to be graphic.
