How do I know if I have a good electrolysist?

I am debating whether or not I should continue with my current electrolysist. Overall she is very professional and has been practicing for about 20 years. She also charges on the very low end (compared to the prices range I’ve seen on the web), so that works out for me since I am a student. However, she doesn’t really guide me in scheduling appointments or estimate when my work will be done. I’ve been seeing her once a month for almost a year, but I’ve been reading that weekly treatments are much more effective and quick. She has never given me any guidelines on how often I should schedule my next appointments. Ideally I would really like to be mostly done with my treatments by the end of spring, so I think I need to make a decision soon for this to happen. What would you reccomend in order for me to reach my goal? :frowning:

I’ve been reading around this board, and I’ve heard there are electrolysists that work much faster than the regular ones do. I believe it was from James and someone you mentioned named Fino. Like I said, I’d like to have my hair problems done with as soon as possible, so I want to switch to someone with a quicker and more serious approach.

How would I go about finding this type of electrolysist? Are there certain questions I could ask that would indicate how efficient they are? Or reccomendations would be appreciated if possible. I live in Northern California about 30 minutes south of Sacramento, and I’d be willing to travel a reasonable distance if it meant cutting down on the number of appointments in total. Thank you.

noone can give you a definite time when you will be finished treatment but you should be seeing a big improvement after one year. Actually, you should see a BIG improvement after several months.
is the electrologist clearing the area completely each visit? or is she thinning the area; jumping around? each area requires a little different technique. what area are you going for?
are you clearing coarse hairs or fine downy hairs?

Thanks for the reply. No I definately wouldn’t say I’ve seen a big improvement, just very subtle. She never clears the area, just thins it out a little. All the hairs I’m clearing are fine… from my upper lip, chest, and line down my stomach. That’s why I’d really like to get this done sooner in time for summer and bathing suit weather.

It makes zero difference whether a state is regulated or not. Are you suggesting there are no good QUALIFIED ELECTROLOGISTS IN NON-REGULATED STATES?

Also, again why are we dredging up all the 15 year old posts for comment? The posters on these threads are all LONG gone

I was going to say this too Seana … YEAH!

Furthermore, why is this person (in Delhi) allowed to incessantly “bomb” this site with advertising?

I get (on average) two annoying calls from either India or Pakistan every day. You know the, “IRS is going to arrest you,” or “This is Microsoft … We see your computer isn’t working.” Creeps!
