Home laser hair removal

It seems that home laser hair removal systems are starting to pop up on the market. Customer reviews of the Silk’n seem to be positive. Has anyone tried one of them?

There are two right now, Silk’n and Tria. Silk’n is an IPL, not a true laser. Tria is a diode laser. Neither are powerful enough to damage the hair permanently. They’re both a good 600 times less powerful than professional machines. I would only consider them if you’re ok with temporary results.

At least 6 months after 1-1.5 years of consistent treatments has to pass before one can judge permanency of results. These machines haven’t been around long enough for this to happen yet. But the specs of the machines pretty much confirm that permanency won’t be achieved, i.e. if professional machines were set to the max settings that the home machines can do, they wouldn’t achieve permanent results either.
