holiday tip or gift

Hi everyone,
I’ve been seeing my electrologyst since September and am wandering what to give her for a holiday gift. We aren’t the best of friends or anything, in fact, she barely speaks during my treatment and I find that I’ve had to repeat several times the shape I want my eyebrows to take after they are done and I see she’s done something completely different than what I asked the week before (thankfully my hair is EXTREMELY persistant and keeps coming back for more torture). I see her once a week for 30mins at a time and each time it’s $43 and I don’t tip. I was thinking maybe a Target gift card for $30? Or a bath set from bath and body works or something? How much should I spend, is $30 to little?

What ever your heart desires is just right.

If I were you, I would stick with the gift card. That way, she buys what ever she likes, and you have no responsibility for knowing her well enough to know what she wants. I would also give it to her inside a card, or at least inside a sealed envelope with Happy Holidays, or a simple Thank You on it.

She charges you quite a high rate already, she is unfriendly and she doesn’t seem to be treating you correctly.

You must truly be a saint to want to tip this woman!

I never tipped my electrologist as she made more than twice what I did. I only tip people who I guess make less than me (so that would mean all waitresses, hairdressers etc…).

By the way, you should change electrolgist.

Hi:

I don’t tip mine every visit, but I give her a small gift and a tip in a card at Christmas. I have been going to her for over 3 years. We have become friends and chat a lot while she treats me.

It is just a small token to show her that I appreciate her efforts and friendship.

Alicia

I would buy her a book on how to provide good customer service <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

haha, i have to say that she IS getting better. it’s sad b/c when i first started electrolysis this past april i had the BEST electrologist but a few months later i went in for an apt. and they told me she had "left. i don’t really know how to find her. my current electrolygist is fine and her price is reasonable for my area for a 30min appointment. i’ve tried 2 other places before deciding on her. the other 2 were pretty sketchy. one place didn’t ask me ANYTHING, they just took me in back and started zapping. oh well.

have you checked out the new “how to find an electrologist link” on the forum. it’s at the top. there are many links where you can possibly find someone else who might be even better.
