His & Hers Beauty Clinic, London/Essex

Hi everyone,

I’m actually based in Berlin but I’ve found a really good Groupon-style offer for the above clinic, which would make it worth the flight costs back and forth.

Birds and stones, I can also visit (and crash with) friends and family.

My question is, has anyone heard of the place, or know if they’re any good? The salon is based in Woodford Green and according to their website they use the Cynosure Elite Aesthetic Workstation, which does Alexandrite and YAG, the latter of which is very hard to find in my city.

The offer continues for another three days, so replies ASAP are much appreciated. Also, the offer is hard to believe - £170 for six sessions on a large area. Thoughts?

Thanks!

I’ve never heard of someone actually flying specifically for laser, but there’s a first time for everything! From my experience from what I’ve seen and what people have posted, generally places that use groupons rarely use strong enough settings to give a good reduction in hair. I’d really hate to see you fly all the way to London for piss-poor treatments.

Minkey,

If it looks too good to be true - it generally is. I would be very suspicious and especially if I was thinking of flying to another country to get the treatment. To give you an idea, I paid around £1500 for Laser treatment for my legs, feet and bikini areas (6 treatments) at a reputable clinic in Cambridge.

So it worked for you? Did you find it painful? How are your results? Can you give the dollars paid per treatment? How are you finding treatments going for your face? are you not concerned about inducing growth there? Thanks for sharing

Minkey. I suggest you have a phone consultation with them. Send them some pictures and ask them what settings they would use. The laser is good. And not all group on deals are bad.

Danika,

I have posted in ‘Post Success Stories! — More than 6 months post’ detailed information about the results of my Legs, Feet and Bikini areas.

I’ve had 3 treatments on my face. To say it hurts is an understatement and the pain was nothing on my legs compared to my face (you get the hint - it hurts like a ****). But, I’ve now got a much smoother face already and hope to get better results yet. I am currently male bodied with no hormone correction yet so the fear of induced hair growth is something that is more concern for born females as the hair on their faces is finer and less dense. I hope this helps to answer your questions.

Thanks for your feedback, guys! In the end, I didn’t go for it. At the moment I’m using a diode for my underarms and it seems to be going well.

Interestingly, I received a PM from a lurker (you know who you are! ) who had used the place and said they do the GroupOn style offers quite frequently. I know this could be construed as a sign of the place not having repeat custom etc. but the area of London isn’t very affluent and I can imagine they don’t get much footfall through walk-ins, no matter how good they are.

Anyway, since I have a fairly good laser available for the areas I’m currently working on, I figured there is no sense rushing into other treatments. I don’t need to do it in winter since… well, let’s just say the area I want a YAG for won’t get much sunshine anyway!

Thanks to all again - I’ll be sure to keep you updated if I do try the place out later! I think the telephone consult is a good idea (thanks Mumbaigirl  ) and maybe a one-off trip next time I’m in London, as a test run.
