Hi, I'm new here, female and VERY hairy

Hello,
What a great forum!!! Ive been reading threads here for awhile and thought I might as well register and start posting. Here’s a few details of me, I’m 19, female student, and from the UK.

My Dad is a very hairy guy, and I unfortunately took after him. the hair has put me down so much, I always feel depressed because of it. During my early teens I was very depressed because of it, I got bullied because I had a unibrow and in changing rooms, girls used to laugh at me. I stopped going to school and it ruined my education. But now I’ve grown up and I remove some of my hair, and I’m much better now.

I have hair everywhere except on my palms and feet I have a light tan/coffee skin colour and black hair. My hair on most of my body is not thick, but light, however its long and everywhere, all together everywhere. Loads on my back, shoulders, neck and bottom It has prevented me from having boyfriends, cos when we kiss, they can see it everywhere on my face. Prevented me from having sex, cos Im too too embarrassed. Its disgusting.

Here’s how I remove some of it atm.
Legs - epilation, and I’m happy using my epilator, it is painful and causes ingrown hairs, but I can live with it. Takes me an hour to do both legs.

Arms - shave or epilate it. Most women’s upperarms dont have much hair, but mine theres no difference, its everywhere. Takes me half an hour to do both arms.

Face - I only remove my mustache my shaving it everyday and my chin hairs and my sideburns are epilated. I tweeze my eyebrows and bleech my cheek hairs.

Bikini - trim it all with a shaver/trimmer

BUT WHAT ABOUT THE REST, cos all that is not enough. I cant even wear strappy vest tops, or short tops, cos I have very hairy shoulders and stomach, and the hair stands out cos its black. I’m going on holiday soon, and I want to be hairless everywhere.

What should I do to my hair on my neck, shoulders, back, lower back, bottom, stomach and chest and breasts???
Being a student, I dont have money and cant afford laser surgery. Please please help me.

Thank you for joining.

Please stop epilating hair on your face. Although it is safer to do that on your legs, the facial hair will thicken and dig in deeper, and get darker with repeated plucking methods.

Bleaching fattens the hairs a little bit due to the bubbling action of the bleach inside the hair fibers, but this may not be a problem to you. Some people go from thin black hairs, to fat blonde hairs.

Please fill out your profile so we know where you are. There are people who can tell you who is good in your area and make things easier on you if you let us know where you are. There may even be someone to team up with in your area to be electrolysis buddies with.

I’ve been using an epilator on the area around my lips for about four years now. And there has been a significant thining of the hairs most o them are not much thicker than they would be on a born woman. They are also much lighter but that could be because of my hair in general turning towards gray.

I am sure you are plucking on a very regular basis. You are not seeing the full amount of growth that would come in if you just left it alone for a month. If you did that, you would see just what is really going on with that area’s hair growth. Only legs and eyebrows can be changed that way. Face and other body hair reacts differently - unless you are also taking female hormones while you are plucking.

Hi, im 14 and have a very similar problem to you!! I also took after my father who is a very hairy man. Iam constantly bullied by people at school and when im coming home from school by bus other kids often point, one rude girl even came up to me and said do you realise you have a moustache?? Which made me feel terrible. I don’t like going to school because of all the bullying and im too embarassed to tell my teachers or parents why. The worst thing is when the teachers make me stand up in front of the rest of the class for my ‘oral’ work, all the other kids point and laugh and i just go bright red, look at the floor and mumble!! I do well at school and don’t see why i’m made to do this as it just makes my life ten times worse, im quite happy just keeping to myself and working quietly. How did you deal with bullies at school and having to do oral work?? I just want someone else that can relate to my problem and tell me what to do to give me more confidence as i can’t stop the bullies or the teachers from embarassing me!! - Thanx

Hiya, all I did was to get rid of the hair. I used to gte bullied because I had a unibrow, but then I started tweezing, although ocassioanly girls would still say it, teenagers are silly at that age, I promise you once you become more mature 16/17/18, all this will stop.
I shave my moustache everyday, and cover it with abit of concealer. I never let it grow and shave it everyday and I have been doing this since I was 14. I feel much better and confident when I know the hair is not there, so why dont you do something about it. Waxing or tweezing it would be a better idea. I know oral work is really hard, I get so nervous and feel like everyone is laughing at me. Dont worry, you’re only young yet, Ive realised the older Ive got the more confident I have become and now I dont go red in the face and get nervous when I stand up and talk infront of hundreds of people.

Hope that helped.

thanx

well i’ve over-plucked my eyebrows years back, and they still haven’t grown back. it doesn’t appear to thicken with repeated plucking, not even when i leave it alone to grow for a while… suggestions??

i have an olive complexion, so blonde hairs no matter how fat on my face would be tons better than the black hairs i currently have. my question is: if i keep bleaching regularly, will my hair lose the black pigmentation at some point and turn blonde forever?

Although eyebrows could stop growing from tissue injury brought on by tweezing (as legs could from waxing or age), hair in most other places won’t go so quietly.

No amount of bleaching will ever make the hairs grow that color.

hmm so is it in any way like head hair? i heard that people who bleach their (head) hair a lot end up with “fried” hair that is very weak and falls out or breaks off easily… is this also the case for facial/body hair?

It will become brittle, but it won’t stop growing.

thanks a lot for the info

Does your recommendation also include shaving? I use an electric razor daily nowadays and I tell you what- it is the most demeaning thing ever. However, I’d rather be the one doing the demeaning than going out in public with a “perfectly shaped” mustache and goatee. I just haven’t found a better way to deal with it yet. I’m just now starting to look in to laser removal. I tried electrolysis a few years ago and didn’t like the results. I want something fast! lol

shaving will NOT cause increased growth, nor will it darken the hari. If everyone had someone fast, no one would do LASER.

I wish you luck, of course, if you want permanent, you will have to do electrolysis again some day.
