Hey, I have some worries.

I’ve been having LHR done on my chest and stomach area. I’ve had 6 sessions so far. After the first session I noticed a lot of hair falling out… but now it seems I’m losing a smaller and smaller percentage with each session… and now it actually seems like I’m gaining hair if anything. I hardly see anything fall anymore… and it seems like there’s new hair coming in.

Also, the lady that’s doing the LHR on me has told me I should come in every 3 weeks… and now 4 weeks. I’ve read the FAQ here… and I got scared… I even asked her why 3 weeks… I’ve read 8-12 weeks. She said something about how i still have hair in the growth phase… so why not get it now.

She told me originally that it would take 8-12 sessions and she could completely clear my chest and stomach of hair with the laser… I asked her at one point if it would get hard for the laser to get the hairs when they get more scattered, and if I’d eventually need electrolysis. She told me no, the laser will be able to get them all.

So yeah… what she’s telling me isn’t what I’m reading here… and now I’m not seeing anymore noticeable hairloss after a treatment… and it appears to me that i’m actually having some hair grow back…

This is painful, and expensive… and I really can’t afford to waste money… I’m on disability… and I’m going broke…

Also, I’m transgender… and I really don’t want to be hairy… and I reallly need money for certain things in my future…

I’m depressed :frowning:

So,… anyone have anything to say about any of this? lol.

Oh, and incase it’s important…

This is the laser she uses:

The Apogee Elite™ Two-in-One Laser System

That’s on her website anyway.

Hi Dark:

I have only received partial reduction with laser
personally, but I know some transwomen who claim they
have had good results.I tend to wonder how long have
they waited after their treatments before making those
statements.

I’ve had laser on my face and on my arms and hands.
After about 9 laser sessions on my face I switched to
electrolysis and finished with that. I still needed
over 125 hours of electro on the face after the laser.
The part that bothered me about it was that laser
was supposed to be effective on dark hair,
yet I had a lot of dark hair coming back and way too
much for a woman.

The laser on the arms was also only partly effective.

I am currently getting the areas you mentioned done with
electrolysis. It may be that you will have to switch to that
to get rid of the remaining hairs after your laser.
I decided not to bother with laser on my chest since
frankly I’m not sold on it’s effectiveness other than for
reduction.

I wouldn’t consider what you have had done a total waste
though, but you may get to a point where the laser has
done all it’s going to do for that area and you may need
to finish with electro.

Good luck!

Apogee is a pretty good laser. Was the alexandrite side used or the Yag side used? She is incorrect about a 3-4 week treatment plan. Sessions should be spaced further apart.

I don’t know what side …or what settings she is using. Thanks for the replies.
