Help with warming the wax

I just got this home waxing yesterday (it’s microwave wax by Gigi) but when I put it in the microwave, the microwave started to make noise and all of sudden, I saw a spark of fire. I quickly took the container out.

I thought I did something wrong but I did eveything that the instruction told me to. Can anyone tell me what cause this? And is there any other way to warm the wax. I hate to throw it away <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

Did the wax have a peel back cover under the lid?

Was this cover foil lined? If yes, could you have left a little of the foil attached? this would spark.

The problem with microwave is temperature control and uneven heat distribution.

You can simmer the wax in a shallow pot of water. keep the temperature low and stir often.
