The skin has healed somewhat since then, but it still has a reddish kind of irritated look. I still havn’t gone back for my second treatment, because i wanted to give my skin a chance to heal.
I had my neck treated and I feel that I need to to go for another treatment before it starts getting to warm and sunny outside. The hair in the treated area has not grown back. I have a few patches of hair and one area on the top right of my new hairline that defenitely needs to be touched up. Here are a few pics
After talking to my dermatologist I found out that an IPL was used. I have been doing some reading and realized that i should most likely be using a Yag laser.
I was just wondering if i could get some input and recomendations about my next treatment, considering my last reaction.
did you prepay for treatments? can you go somewhere else? a Yag laser will probably not cause as much irritation, although some is always expected on this area since it has dense dark growth. I would find someone who is expeirenced in treating this area specifically for your next treatment. and definitely wait until skin completely heals and new hair shows. I wouldn’t use an IPL on this area especially.
Thanks for replying.
No, I did not prepay the treatments. Yes i can go somewhere else, and was planning to.
How would i go about finding someone who is experienced in this area? call around?
As for wating for the skin to heal and new hair growing. It is starting to get warmer and more sunny, and i was thinkin that i would want to get the patchy areas treated ASAP, to avoid tanning (I tan real easliy)
I was treated by a board certified dermatologist. And i am debating on wether to try another dermatologist or try a treatment center. I have been looking over the internet and have found American Laser Center, Reveal Medspa and Laser perfect in my area. I live in the DC/Maryland/Virginia area. Plan on calling tomorow.
I did some searching and saw that u recomended Dr. Battle and Dr. Harris of CulturaMed in Washington DC. They use LightSheer (diode), Altus Coolglide (Nd:YAG), and Syneron Aurora which supposidely treats finer hair and “peach fuzz”. I plan on calling them as well.
If you are interested in a place near Baltimore. I use a place that is located on the southwest corner of the beltway. They use the GentleYAG and Gentlelase. Their website is in need of an upgrade. William Dando is an MD. He and his wife Carol both do laser work. Their pricing is very good.

I would go with the place Paul recommends (since he’s tried several) or that one you already found that others raved about. Someone else recommended Alase before, but not sure if they’re still around and use good lasers. Check all of these out and make a decision based on who seems most knowledgeable.
Aurora CLAIMS to treat peach fuzz. I would avoid doign that at all costs. It doesn’t work.
