Help to choose a machine

Hello I am from France and I would like to learn electrology. I am having electrology my self on diverse areas with several electrologists.
Unfortunatelly in France we are not as advanced as other countries and it’s difficult to find relevant informations on electrolysis and I find this forum is very helpful.
My idea is first to learn by my self with a machine and all the books and videos you’ve mentionned and then get a course to allow to practice officially.

I would like to know what do you think of the Sterex SX-B Blend machine? Sterex SX-Blend
I didn’t find a wide choice of machine in Europe. The other ones seems to me a bit oldy like this one but maybe it’s a prejudice and they are as efficient?

There is few Apilus but in case of failure it will be difficult to get it fixed as they are in Canada.
Sterex in UK is closest to France and according to the instructions the SX-B Blend offers the possibility to do the 3 techniques Diathermy, Galvanic or Blend.

But I do not know enough to judge. According to you is it a good choice to start in electrolysis, in particular for Blend Method ?
or should I consider another machine for Blend only?
Appart from ebay do you know another method to obtain (even used) a good machine?

Hi LRN,

I recommend you get in touch with Adrien Sanchez from this board. He’s an electrologist also from france,and I’m certain he will have lots to say about the state of electrology in france.

Essentially, all but medical doctors are banned from performing electrolysis in france. The doctors themselves are completely uninterested in doing electrology correctly and you’ll sometimes hear reference to “those pluckers from france”.

I would think that given that, purchasing ANY brand of epilator would be very difficult.

I have heard of the sterex Sx-B but I have never operated one.

However of the leading manufacturers of electrolysis equipment, almost all of them are located in north america. Those would be, Apilus( Dectro) Silouette Tone, Instantron and Clareblend. Some of these machines can be ordered to any international voltage. I know apilus does this, I’m not sure but find it likely for instantron.

If I was to go with a preference, it would probably be for an instantron machine on a pure reliability scale .

And that “old machine” isnt old at all. Its a scam device sold on ebay by a company called Aavex.

Thank you Seana for your detailled response. I wouldn’t find by myself It was a scam…
I didn’t find a lot of feed-back for the Sx-B, I don’t know why? is Sterex a recognized brand?
