My electrologist will not work on me while I am pregnant. I am very disappointed about it. Should I look for some one else? Or is this the belief by others’ as well.
By the way, it is facial work not body work.

I looked up the New Jersey law and found no prohibition against electrolysis on pregnant women, so it is either her own choice or what she was taught.
Many women having electrolysis treatments discover they are pregnant and have no adverse reaction. Many electrologists require and some request permission be granted from the clients physician, so you might seek treatment elsewhere, but check with your physician, too - I’ve had pregnant clients whose physicians don’t want them getting facials while pregnant…shrug

It is only the litigiousness of the nation that causes this fear of working on expectant mothers. There is no clinical basis for thinking that one can’t perform electrolysis on a pregnant woman.
Of course, since one can sue for anything in the United States, many either will refuse to do the work, or they will request/require a doctor’s note clearing the person for treatment prior to performing the service.
Dependingon where you are located, finding someone else to do the work is simply a point of asking someone else, or getting one of your doctors to write you the clearance note.
Yes, it is very unfortunated a lot of things we do or don’t do have to with the litigiousness of our society.
I am going to ask my doctor, see if he will give me permission, and ask my electrologist again. If she still says no, well, hopefully I will have a doctor’s note. I will go from there. It is all I can do at the this point.
