Help in Albuquerque?

Hi everyone! I’m new here, so please, be gentle. <_<

I live in the Albuquerque, NM area (Rio Rancho, specifically), and I’m hoping someone can help me out. I’m a transgender woman who needs facial hair electrolysis…but, unfortunately, I’m currently unemployed, and the economic situation here is bad. I’ve been trying to get a job for about 8 months now with no luck and very few interviews even.

Which is all just to say…the money I have saved up so far for electrolysis may be all that I have for a while to use, until I can get some sort of steady income. I’ve got a little over $2,000 at the moment set aside for it, and am hoping that will at least be enough for an initial full clearing…but I have no experience with this, so I’m hoping someone that does can help me out.

Does anyone out there know where I might be able to stretch the money I do have the furthest? I’ve found only a few electrologists in the area (most of them on the list in the other forum here seem to be out of business, number disconnected) and none of them have any reviews or recommendations I’ve seen. Even if it’s not in the Albuquerque area, that would be ok, it’s just that whatever travel costs are involved would be coming out of the same money…

All I can say is you need a pile of money to get the hair off your face and neck. Two thousand is a good start, but will not see you through to the end. I don’t know how much hair you have, so perhaps a full clearance can be reached with $2,000. If you can travel to Santa Barbara, CA Michael Bono has a big heart and may be willing to cut you a deal, but you would have to discuss that with him. In the meantime, keep looking for a job so you don’t have to stop when the $2,000 is gone. Good luck to you, DV and welcome to HairTell.

Dear DV88.

I used to work with Dr. Martin Trujillo in a Santa Barbara Clinic. He’s a wonderful, kind and highly skilled physician. He moved to Albuquerque.

I’m pretty sure he is now working with an electrologist I recommended to him a few years ago (she probably works in his office). Give “Marty” a call and find out what options he might recommend for you.

Hmm…I looked him up on Google but the only Dr. Martin Trujillo I’m seeing is a family practice in Springer, NM…
