HELP, headaches and dizziness AFTER LHR

Hi
I’m wondering if anyone has experienced this and if its normal,
I had laser hair removal on a few body areas yesterday all done with the googles on and everything!
Pain was bearable but underarms was BADLY painful but I managed to bear that also.
I was there an hour and a half
After that I was driving home and I felt like I was going to pass out I went quite lightheaded n dizzish
I hardly slept a wink last nyt I kept waking up with strange things happening and today I’ve come back from work as I still have the headache :frowning: and feel a bit sick? Also I think I have a temperature
Is this normal has anyone experienced this?

Thanks
X

That’s not normal and i don’t recall anyone ever telling me something like that. I doubt they are related.

It started straight after I had it and also I’ve read on the internet a few people have had the same

I had LHR on my chin when I was pregnant and unknown at the time in the early stages of pre-eclampsia. (I had had LHR before and I had a note from my doctor saying it was OK, I was enormously pregnant, not hiding anything)

I normally have a very high pain tolerance. This session was more painful than normal and when I was done I had trouble seeing - at first I thought the goggles had mashed my eyes funny (I couldn’t come up with any other reason) - when I went out to my car I had to sit for a good 20 minutes before I could drive, my vision was so messed up. I strongly suspect in retrospect it was a massive blood pressure spike due to the pain. BP spikes can also cause headaches, dizziness, and so forth.

I suspect the pain had something to do with this in your case. Do you have any history of blood pressure issues?

Are you male/female? Where you are in your cycle, any hormones you are taking, etc can all have an impact on pain, blood flow, blood pressure - anything out of the norm this time? I don’t want to step on any toes here using wrong terminologies.

If it happens again I’d consider going to a walgreens or walmart, somewhere with a blood pressure machine you can use for free, just to see what is up.

Hiya
Thanks for replying
I normally have really low blood pressure but I don’t no wat it is at the moment I have a doctors appointment in a hour and I will report back then!
But yes after my appointment at one point I wen I was driving home I got very light headed!
And my heat feels like its heating inside but I’m cold on the outside very strange

Sorry forgot to add I’m 25 I’m ment to be on my cycle in 7 days and I’m very small 5ft 2 and 46kgs

It could have just been an abrupt jump from low to high BP, not some serious underlying bp issue - but I do suspect BP is behind it. If you’re coming down with a cold or something (a possible explanation for the fever - it is the time of year for the nasty colds and coughs to start where I live) perhaps your body is already under stress somewhat and that exaccerbated it? Hopefully it is a one time thing. It only ever happened to me that one time.

Skin can be much more sensitive for some women while premenstrual so perhaps booking the next appointment after a period might help? Everyone is different, just something to keep track of for yourself.

If you’re going to be doing a long, painful session like this, perhaps taking a good strong dose of advil beforehand might help?

You’re definitely not the only person to experience something like this though.

Thank you uv been very helpful at putting my mind at ease.
I’ve been to the docs she checked everything and said everything looks normal apart frm my bp which is low at 99 over 60! She think it was the pain that has caused my headache or she thinks I maybe coming down with a virus.
I just read the comments on this website and got really scared

But hopefully I won’t get this next time I go as I REALLY need to have those areas hair free
