HELP going to Bahamas WHAT DO I DO

I have been undergoing laser hair removal for over 2 years now. I am doing wonderful, but am going on a cruise to the Bahamas for about five days…Any advice would help!

I am planning on trying to stay out of the sun as much as possible. What is a great sun screen for those with laser hair removal??? Also what about swimming? chlorine? ocean water? just want any advice. THANKS

I am at 11+ treatments on face , brazillian and 3 treatments on legs so far…

HELP!!!

11+ on face and brazilian? that’s a lot of treatments. what kind of results are you seeing?

staying out of the sun and putting on at least 30 SPF sunscreen should be fine.

lagirl…
the 11+ treatments, were due to me buying a 6 treatment package and a 2 year guarantee after. My face is pretty much at 85% with a few strays around the cheeks and near the edges of the lips. Now the brazilian was marvelous with about 90% hairfree! I just figure might as well keep going and going…just to stay hairfree. Though at times it seems like I see more hair growth. So not exactly sure the entire life cycles of the hairs…

I am going to buy a good spf…but am dreading the sun…got a lot of black to wear, but I probably will stay indoors on deck, etc…

dont get too obsessive…

Do you plan on getting laser treatments soon after your cruise? If so, stay with the SPF 30. Bullfrog is supposed to be a good brand. Banana Boat is good also. Be sure to reapply frequently and apply it generously. Buy your sunscreen in the US as they will price gouge you in the Bahamas and on the ship if you buy it there.

Sun worshipper that I am, I can’t believe I’m telling someone to use SPF30 LOL! But if you’re going to have laser hair removal you need to avoid tanning. You can always hit the casino on the ship.

I don’t get laser treatments in the summer as they would interfere with my tanning. All my chest hair is gone as is most of my back hair so that’s OK. I can still have electrolysis there and still sun worship.

Enjoy your trip and respect the sun. It is a lot more intense in the Bahamas than in the Midwest or Northeast USA. Even I use higher SPF sunscreens when I go to the Bahamas, especially in the spring. In the fall the sun is not as intense.

Thanks for all the advice that you very knowledgeable people have added here, a question closely related, I have had one YAG bikini laser treatment, I am going to Hawaii and don’t plan to go nude, should I still apply sunscreen to the bikini area if I don’t plan to shed clothes? thanks again!

apply to exposed areas. the reason you’re doing this is to keep the areas you are treating as light as possible for treatments. if they’re not exposed, they’re not going to get any darker.

Just make sure you’re not wearing one of those bathing suits that allows tanning rays through. One of the brand names is Solar Tan Thru. They’re not real common.
