Help.. any one in michigan!

I’m in search for a good laser hair removal center here in michigan preferably suitable for arab skin tone. Any idea?

You need a Yag laser. Please start by reading the FAQs below which also point out ways to find good clinics near you. In addition to that, run a search here for “Michigan” (search feature in top right corner).

Hello,

Try PureLaser in Rochester Hills. They also have branches in Oxford & Farmington Hills. Ask for Ildiko Svoren @ 888-917-7873. She specializes in medical laser dermatology and electrology. Hope this helps.

Welcome to hairtell MILHR. Are you a consumer who has been to this place of business and are satisfied with the treatments and results?

MILHR? Sounds like you’re from Michagan and this is your first and only post. You wouldn’t happen to work for Pure, would you?

Hi,

Yes. I work for PureLaser here in MI. I had my assistant create an account for the forum, and she had posted in response to the initial inquiry. It is our first time posting and we are not sure if we’re going about this proper way. Please let me know.

Sincerely,

Ildiko Svoren, RE,CME,CLHR,LEI

If you’re going to be promoting your clinic, we would appreciate it if you participated on the forum, answering consumers’ concerns, so that consumers can judge for themselves whether they should go to your clinic. Share with us what machines you use and why, what kind of results you normally see, etc. That would help us understand where you’re coming from and help your credibility. Simply telling someone to come to your clinic without knowing their needs or their skin type, and without stating if you have a specific machine for their skin type, is not very helpful or unbiased.

Hi Dee,
I was a consumer with a facial hair problem and found electrolysis worked for me so I pursued a career in 1980 and I have been devoted to the practice since. You could say I’m a pioneer in the field of LHR since I do all the research and testing of devices used in our practice. We have treated thousands of cases using both laser and electrolysis or a combination of both. MI state licenses Electrology and I am both a licensed Electrologist and Electrology Instructor. I was Chairman of the task force for Board of Cos in MI to determine who should provide Laser Hair Removal in MI. Over the past 10 years since the laser craze began, we have been following the technology and evaluating results. We were independent in MI until 1999 and became independent of Pure Corporate in 2002. We are a state registered medical practice serving metro Detroit areas as Pure Laser with 4 local locations as well as having partnerships with Dermatology, Plastic Surgery and other medical offices where we offer our specialised cosmetic lasers and aesthetic services. After almost 28 years in practice, we still provide electrolysis along with aesthetic lasers and IPL. I would be happy to help anyone who is interested in knowing more about treatments that can help them get rid of unwanted facial and body hair forever. I’ve had both electrolysis and laser and can speak from personal experience as well as professional practice in the field.

Welcome aboard the good ship HairTell.

Thanks for your response Lagirl,

There is a lot of valuable information to discover on this forum. Time permitting, I would be happy to check in & participate in answering consumers’ questions to help them make informed decisions based on practice experience. I will take your suggestion and compile info on my experience, etc. I looked at your links & saw the Q&A as well as Questions to ask when choosing a practitioner. Should I present my info as Word attachments or links and if so, can you please tell me how to do this.
Re: the Michigan Inquiry… You suggested a yag laser. We do have a GentleYag laser for the Arabic skin type who inquired.

Ildiko

Okay, well said and let me add my welcome. You sound very credentialed and we could always use some help here answering questions if you would like to participate.

What laser and IPL do you use? That information may help the oringinal poster out. How did you hear about hairtell?

Oh, just saw your post above. We must have been typing at the same time

Thanks MILHR.

Dee

Welcome to the forum. Thanks for outlining your background. It’s very helpful to us. We can always use the help answering questions here and helping out consumers.

You can probably start by reading the sticky posts on this forum as well as some past posts by our expert SSLHR (physician who owns clinics in Texas). If you have some additions or suggestions, feel free to post them as a new thread and we can discuss and make them a sticky post if it’s appropriate.

I’m also curious to know what kind of machines you carry for LHR as well as electrolysis.

Good luck.

Thank you James,

I see that you are a CPE & the Moderator. Could you please direct me to rules or protocol on having my Michigan locations listed for referrals from this site. Since I’m new to this forum and I’m from Michigan, I wanted to respond to the person who wanted “Help…in MI” We only know that he/she has Arabic skin type. As LAgirl responded, yag laser would be the best for this skin type. At Pure Laser we have waxing, electrolysis, IPL (which is not the best for hair removal) plus 6 different lasers, and one of them is a Candela GentleYAG laser which is safe and very effective on dark and tanned skin. Of course not everyone is a candidate for laser hair removal and we would have to see him/her for a free consultation to determine what area, quantity and hair color there is to treat, before we could determine what the appropriate treatment plan or combination would be. As you know, Electrolysis has been the gold standard for permanent hair removal of all skin and hair colors for ovver 132years and some people are just not good candidates for laser especially if they don’t have enough dark pigment(melanin) in the hair. Certain lasers, like the yag, are very safe and do produce permanent reduction in the darker skin types.

I don’t know what the right way is to go about responding on the forum. Should I go directly to her inquiry, or do I just post a response??? LaGirl suggested I answer consumer questions and I would be happy to do that as my time permits. I do, however want to know how to get listed or do the Google listings surrounding some of your pages.

Please let me know. Thank you.

Hi Dee,

Thanks for your response. I heard about HairTell some time ago from a client. I also ran across HairFacts when doing Google and Yahoo searches.

This is an amazing site. Both sites have so much valuable info and some really helpful responses. I hope to be of help.

Savvy hair removal consumer’s research before they jump. Many stumble upon hairtell in their search for personal answers. With so many practitioner’s and consumer’s interacting here at one site, it makes it very difficult for the scammers and spammers to fool anybody. This is a a site that serves people, not a place where products or services sold. Recommending places of business, though, is a necessary part of helping the consumer find who is good at what they do in their area, and that’s what we attempt to do here as well. So, sorry for the initial grilling and interogation, but I’m sure you understand why we are so protective.

Dee

Thank you Dee /Ildiko

pure laser in michigan has screwed me a couple times and never even offered to give me a free make-up treatment. use them with caution.

I find it interesting that you say “Use them with caution” and not, Avoid Like The Plague!"

I can’t imagine telling someone anything less than, “Their work is ok, but you can’t trust them, so I would never go back, and I would never recommend them.”
