Hello everyone!
I’ve been doing electrolysis on my face for the past three years. Before that I had done laser hair removal, but it ultimately led to even coarser and darker hairs on my chin. I’ve checked my hormones, my testosterone is a tad higher than normal but my endocrinologist says it’s fine and doesn’t warrant treatment. No other issues whatsoever. I trim or shave between appointments. My skin isn’t really sensitive and my chin area has been through so much that I’m pretty sure my it can regenerate after complete destruction, so I’m not worried about scabs. Scarring means no hair and that’s fine with me.
The first full 4 sessions took around 2.5 hours each and I saw significant improvement on my cheeks — I got rid of cheek hair almost immediately! But my chin area left too much to be desired, seeing as the hair growth there was exactly the same as before, if not worse. I begged everyone to just zap me with a taser at full power because I didn’t care about pits and scarring as long as I got rid of hair, but alas. My skin healed suspiciously quickly, hair grew back suspiciously fast. The next full sessions didn’t really improve the situation, so I’ve changed electrologists three times after that hoping I could at least get rid of the thicker ones. I don’t even want to count how many sessions I’ve had after Feb 2023, which is the point of reference in the picture below, but it was close to 14. I think it was mostly thermolysis.
This led me to April 2024 when my friend gave me the contact info of a medieval executioner with a torture device beyond human comprehension. She uses blend method, and I have to admit that despite my VERY high pain tolerance and copious amounts of Skincaine applied to the chin area beforehand, I still could feel every zap down to my bones — and no pulling. I was so happy that I told her I’d come back exactly for the electric chair simulation experience.
It was the first time in three years I actually got some scabbing; seeing the red dots and comically swollen chin for 1.5 weeks brought me immense joy. I hoped it would finally bring desired results. However, maybe I’ve become really discourged or impatient, but I don’t see much improvement between April 2024 (before first appointment with my torturer) and May 2024 (a photo from a few days ago before second appointment), except for hair length.
I think the way she does this is canonically correct (correct me if I’m wrong), so I’m not sure I should even consider changing electrologists, but Lord I am so tired of chin hair that I’m getting desperate. Should I tell her to use full power and just pray I don’t die? Are there any tips and tricks I might have missed? I’ll see if there is more improvement after the second appointment, but the time slot has been exactly the same (45 minutes).
