hello. my story.

I just wanted to share my story with electrolysis.

I wish someone had told me to start this earlier, despite the pain.

I’m a girl dying to be hair free. I’m moderately hairy, but suffering with this is just too painful.

I’ve never been able to wear a bathing suit, bikini, or one piece because I’m embarrassed to have hair that most people I know don’t have.

I have to constantly tell people that I don’t like to swim because its too embarrassing to say the truth and makes me feel much more insecure.

I’ve had my underarms done already, and working on my stomach.

My underarms weren’t quite finished, but I gave up because it was so painful.

I changed electrologists and have then started my stomach.

I want to do pretty much my whole body.

I don’t worry about my underarms too much, because most of it is all gone, and I just shave the rest. I will end up cleaning it up and fully doing it, but its just amazing, the feeling of not having to think or even worry about it. So I guess I know how hair-free girls feel.

It’s quite difficult to dresss cute, or to wear something that shows skin. Its like I have to get a dress that doesn’t show my back, can’t wear low cut tops or tank tops.

I want to do pretty much my whole body, focusing on the back, chest + stomach, and face. Then to my arms, and finally legs. And my butt, don’t know how well that will go.

Another thing is that I didn’t have much hair when I was much younger in places where it should not be. It was light first, then grew to be more.

I whole heartedly believe that diet is a big deal related to body hair. I have stopped meat completely and am weeding out dairy in my diet now. The hormones in this stuff does not work well with your body!

And no, I haven’t been to the doctor for horomonal problems. I don’t believe its that. My period is very regular and my hair isn’t thick or coarse. Maybe having hair is human?

Nonetheless, I have decided to deal with it and have changed my attitude toward it. There is a solution.

Electrolysis works! It really does. It takes patience and hard work.

I am committing myself to go a couple of times a week, with no breaks in between. I don’t use any pain creams, or anything, I just deal with it. Its amazing how if you change your attitude, lots of things change. (I used to use emla before, totally all in your head, it really doesn’t work)

So if anyone who wants to start, start now. Dedicate yourself to it. Go a couple times a week (I go for an hour). Don’t take breaks (I would stop for months). If I can be of any help to anyone, let me know. No one should have to live like this.

I can’t wait to be hair free. I will prob run around naked. (Okay, maybe not, but you get my joy?)

BTW, a good electrologist is very important. I started with a bad one, who left me some pitting scars. Find a good person.

And after your session, apply aloe fresh from the leaf to the area you did. It heals amazingly. Vitamin E works good too.

Right now I’m using Aubrey Organics Aloe Vera from Whole Foods, but I find the fresh aloe from the leaf to be far much better. I’m going to stop being lazy and am going to buy many plants. Aloe needs to be used right away once the leaf is opened.

Also, anyone know anything about saw palmetto?

Or lemon juice after waxing?

If you plan on using lemon juice after waxing, you must also plan on zero sun exposure for 24 hours, as even walking around outside could lead to a sunburn if you have citrus covered skin in the sun.

Thanks for affirming this and thanks for the Aloe Vera recommendation.

If you want to list your electrologist in the referral section, that would be very helpful.

I would suggest that you get your underarms lased if the hair is even coarse after past electrolysis treatments. Al other hair will have to be treated with electrolysis.

Electrolysis requires focused technical skill, a steady hand, a good eye and stamina. That is why it can be difficult to find someone who is very good. Having all those descriptions in place at the same time is not always possible.

We’re cheering you on!

Dee

If you have dark coarse hair on your bikini, look into laser treatments asap. It will be a lifesaver for you as it was for me. It’s not expensive and it’s quick. You’ll be very happy you did it and will be swimming in no time.

Your hair situation doesn’t sound abnormal at all. Most women have hair on these areas, some hair is just more prominent and darker than on others.

You sound just like me! I have had to stop my electrology due to money/didn’t care for electrologist, but I hope to hit the band wagon soon! You rock in my book =]

Hair under the armds isn’t thick at all. Very thin. I just shave now, but its no big deal. Probably 10 hairs at most.

I don’t know how I feel about laser, I’ve heard many stories.

Does it come back? How long has it been?

Yeah, I would stop sometimes because it was so annoying to go and to think about it. But I want to go so bad now. I just can’t wait til I’m done.

I really encourage you to start looking for a good one and go full force!
