Hi everybody,
This is my first post here though I’ve lurked for quite some time, reading & absorbing all the helpful info. I guess I’m finally ready to say hello and jump in! I’m female, 38, Caucasian type I/II skin but very dark haired… ancestry is mixed northern Euro, predominantly French/German. For years I gnashed my teeth & cursed unlucky genetics for the unwanted dark, coarse hair on my legs & underarms; it’s been, if not the bane of my existence, then at least a top-3 oppressor on my self body-image for most of my lifetime. I’ve wanted to have electrolysis done for ages, but unfortunately I was never in a position to seriously consider doing it until quite recently. So for YEARS I was stuck in the usual vicious cycle of shaving, tweezing, the occasional foray into waxing, & an overall disappointment that will doubtless be so painfully familiar to anybody here.
But after clearing some other big financial hurdles out of the way, this royal pain-in-the-bleep problem was tops on my wishlist – I’ve had to wait long enough! So after doing my homework, learning more refreshers on human biology than I ever cared to, getting lots of excellent pointers here and researching to find a good practitioner, I am HAPPY to say I’ve recently begun electrolysis treatments. Even more, I am THRILLED to say that so far it’s going beautifully! I know I still have a long road ahead & have to pace myself, but honestly, my treatment days CANNOT come fast enough for me now.
Anyway, I thought it was high time to get out of lurk mode and start sharing some feedback. I will share more of my story later, but for now I’d just like to give a HUGE hats off to Andrea for putting together such a useful site & for hosting this forum – seriously, I can’t begin to tell you just how much I have learned here. Also a big thank-you to other users for sharing their experiences and especially to the actual professionals who come here & give of their free time to answer endless questions, clear up misconceptions, put fears at ease, & in general educate us hopeful but uninformed masses. I assure you, it does NOT go unappreciated!
