Healing from first appt, scab question

I had my first appt on Monday to clear my “happy trail”, she cleared all hairs that were visible in the first 30min session & even managed to start on the top of the bikini area with the time we had left!
A little background, I’m female, 28 & from the northeast & decided to take the plunge as I’m sick of trying to maintain & worry about it. I had 2 laser treatments but honestly did not feel that 350 a pop was worth it so I never rebooked, that was over 2 years ago.

So now, onto my question!! I had little marks on every follicle she hit the day after & some were tiny blisters. I knew from reading & re-reading on this site that body work does scab & the first night I only followed her directions which were just aloe & neosporin or just aloe. Then I got wise & didn’t like the little yellow bumps here & there & started following the advice from here! Dabbing witch hazel followed by aloe Vera & tea tree oil & aloe at night. The tea tree oil I think has made a VAST difference! So I did that on nights 2 & 3 & the scabs are small & appear to be drying up. So I didn’t come across an answer on here that explained when to STOP treating the scabs & whether or not at one point to stop using the aloe & just let them totally dry up or try to keep them moist till they fall off?
Any advice appreciated & about how long do tummy scabs last? They may be small but sure are ugly

It’s been a few days - you can stop. Don’t pick at the scabs and let them fall off.

I’m more concerned about why you got so many scabs and pustules. Were the settings too high? Were the insertions too shallow? etc

Did you notice what machine she was using, one with buttons or with 2 dials?

Well it hurt like holy hell!! But I did not feel the actual insertions or the plucking afterward. Everything seemed to come from sterile packages & she wore gloves. As for the machine, I didn’t notice honestly, it was positioned up & over my left shoulder while I was laying down. Only the few that were coarse hais were the ones that looked like pustules. She made mention of as it was my first session she only had me on “6” instead of the usual “9” then half way through asked if she could do 7, so I said yes. The 7 didn’t make much of a difference seeing as the 6 already hurt! I have my second appt Tuesday & I’ll check out her machine then. Thanks for your response

I had the same issues in that area. The first few clearances took a long time to heal but at least the hair went away. I guess that’s something.

Check your messages.

The 6, 7, and 9 sound like she is using an Apilus machine. Those are good, modern machines. I’m saying this without seeing you, but 9 sounds like a very harsh setting to use. My suspicion is that her insertions are too shallow, and that is why she needs to use such high settings to get the hair to release. And, of course, that hurts like bloody hell, causes unnecessary damage at the epidermis level, which in turn, gets you the pustules (tiny infections). I would take more care with the insertions, ask her to use insulated probes (or buy a box for yourself), and lower the settings (which insulated probes allow you to do).

I’ll look into it, thanks!!

The machine had buttons. Today she tried the blend method on me when I asked about scabs but it hurt & took a bit longer per follicle so we switched back to what she originally used on me. Im hoping this time since I’m using a good after care, maybe that many bumps won’t appear again
