I’ve been treated for laser hair removal a few times and it’s been okay. It’s a bit painful, but hey anyone can deal with it. That is until last treatment. I had my period and the technician said that it will hurt more than usually. It definitely hurt, A LOT! The pain didn’t go away and my skin was very irritated. Later on I realized that the technician had burned my legs.
I’m still going through the healing process. Does anyone have any advice on what to do?
Firstly, get some clear aloe vera gel and put it in the fridge, then apply to the skin. You can also use tea tree oil at night, but do test spots to check that your skin won’t become more irritated.
Secondly, go back to the clinic. They need to be aware of what they have done and then work out what they can do to avoid this. What skin type are you? What laser are they using? What are the settings?
If the symptoms persist and don’t seem to calm down or get any worse, don’t rule out seeing a dermatologist. Although in saying this, the large majority of skin problems normally go away, however it can take time though.
There’s plenty more information on the site about burns from laser, have a look on the laser forum for hairy 87’s post (can’t remeber what it’s called of the top of my head). There’s quite a large discussion on that particular thread and some good information.

Benji

Go back to the clinic. They need to know and they need to take care of it by giving you a cream to help with the healing etc

See a dermatologist if there isn’t one at the clinic. Depending on how bad it is, you need need a cream or another treatment for a burn.
