Hampton Roads area for electrolysis and laser

Hi, can anyone recommend me a good place for electrolysis and laser in the Hampton Roads? I need laser for lighter hair and electrolysis for thick hair, but I am not sure which center is good for me. I scoured the internet for the reviews for American Laser and Sona and I do not feel comfortable going to either one of these centers.

I also searched for the post regarding to my area and I cannot really find one so far, with the reviews. I got a listing of electrolysis on other post, but I need somebody to share the reviews.

Thanks in advance

Laser doesn’t work on light hair. Unless your hair is brown or black don’t waste your money, and go for electrolysis instead.

If you do have dark areas to treat with laser, I advise against American Laser Center. I’ve only heard bad things, and they are very aggressive marketers who will spam the hell out of you if they get your phone number or email address. To me, that’s a huge turn off.

My hair is dark brown to black. So, will I get some luck with laser? Hair on my legs is almost black and feels a bit hard than normal and I am really sick of trying to keep my legs smooth so often. My legs feel like cactus to the touch if not shaved. My armpits are same as legs, but my bikini are a bit softer. Any tips on my hair type?

Thanks

That should be fine then. Dark and coarse is perfect. Lower legs and armpits and bikini line is pretty much perfect for laser. I misunderstood your original post (where it says you want laser for light hair).

Sorry I can’t suggest a place for you, I’m not in your area. I recommend not buying an entire package until you’ve had at least one treatment with the place (maybe armpit, because that’s the cheapest). If they don’t do a thorough job, you’ll know about 3 weeks after the first treatment, and you don’t want to be locked into a package.

What state? What country? What’s your skin type? Have you read the FAQs? See the link below.

You need to figure out what laser type you need and find a clinic that has one. You may also want to avoid big chains. Most of them don’t have the best lasers, charge too much, and treat you like you’re buying a used car.

Read through the forum and educate yourself. You can get good results on coarse hair on your legs as long as you do proper research to get good treatments by an experienced clinic with the right laser for your skin type.

I am not sure what type my skin is. I have freckles with dark brown/black hair. I am from Norfolk, VA and I would like to find a very good clinic that I can trust.

So far, I have no luck finding one. Here I am asking for a help on finding a clinic. I cannot really travel far often, but if it is only clinic that I should visit, then I am willing to travel.

Few clinics I really want to know about:

Capital Laser - http://capitallaser.net/aboutus_laser_hair_removal.html

Advance Skin & Laser Center - http://richmondskin.com/index.php

This one is the closest clinic to my home - http://www.atlanticlaserhairremovalcenter.com/index.html

Can you guys tell me what do you know about these clinics before I make an appointment?

Please read the FAQs at the link below. You figure out your skin type based on the Fitzpatrick Skin Chart which is in there and which you Google as well. Your hair needs to be COARSE for laser, not only dark. Freckles may get lighter from laser treatments.

The two recommended clinics sort of in your area are:

Dr. Carol Dando
Cosmetic Laser Medical Center
405 Frederick Road, Ste 200
Baltimore, Maryland (Catonsville area)
410-455-6196
www.biolaseraesthetics.com

Alternative Health Associates
Alexandria, Virginia

Victoria’s Day Spa in Newport News. I have coarse dark back hair, the laser esthetician is a former nurse, so she is fairly up front about the likely results and limitations of laser treatment.
