I know this is the wrong thread … but, I’m too lazy to find the right one.
Anyway, a new client (Northern Cal) wrote to our two schools in California and asked about the “anagen only” idea. I suggested he contact them, because his own electrologist wanted to wax his legs and then do “anagen only.”
Well folks … here are the answers from our two (and only) schools of electrology in California. So, is it any wonder at all what the student think? I DO feel like cursing … but I know Andrea will throw me off Hairtell. However, let me only say, “Grrrrrrrr!”
READ IT AN WEEP:
AIE DECTRO SCHOOL (Los Angeles):
Hair grows and moves through the follicle in three stages: Anagen, Catagen and Telogen. Anagen hair is in a live stage, this stage is the one required to effectively eliminate the hair. Catagen hair is a transitional stage between alive and dead. Telogen hair has lost connection with the papilla (nutrient supply source) therefore leaving the papilla to reproduce an anagen hair at a later date. The ideal hair for effective hair elimination is a young early stage Anagen hair.
Monterey (Blend) School (San Francisco area):
"Your current electrologist is absolutely correct … hairs in the anagen growth stage are the ones you want to treat because they are connected to a blood supply … when hair follicles transition into the Catagen (shedding) or Telogen (resting) stage they are disconnected from the blood supply provided by the papilla … additionally in these stages the bottom half of the follicle shrinks by 1/3 and the follicle is not held open by an existing hair so it is virtually impossible to insert into a telogen follicle.”
So, there it is: 1) The “papilla grows the new hair” and, 2) you cannot insert into a telogen hair follicle. I don’t know who to shoot, myself or the schools. What planet are these people on? Have any of these “instructors” ever heard of STEM CELLS? SFSFSFSFSFSFSFSFSF!!!
I’m going to “Universal Studios” tomorrow to “chill out” with the Germans. This put me “over the top.”
