Hairs Growing Back Under the Skin?

Hello,

I’m finding that with electrolysis on my chin area, some hairs that have regrown have been growing back UNDER the skin (similar to an ingrown hair, except there is no bump). The hair itself is growing normally but with a layer of skin or two on top of it. In other words, they’re growing parallel to my skin but embedded deeply. Attempting to remove them means using a pin to dig beneath which results in damage to my skin. What is my electrologist doing wrong to cause this problem?

Is this one or two hairs?

I have removed two that were embedded in the skin, I believe I can also see a couple more of them but they are too deep.

Did you ever seek treatment for your anxiety as we suggested? You still seem to be suffering an almost hysterical fear of problems that are incredibly unlikely. I really do think that, until you can get your anxiety under control, electrolysis is likely to be hell for both you AND your operator. Your constant accusations that your electrologist is doing something wrong, scarring your skin, ripping you off, etc. cannot make for a good client/operator relationship.

Anxiousbee ingrown hairs ( and that is what these are) happen frequently in plucking cases . They arent a big deal to remove and the process usually doesnt involve any scarring whatsoever. It’s just a fact of life but it doesnt have to have a horrible outcome.
They can coil up in the follicle, or other times you will see “runners” under the skin such as in your case. A good electrologist knows how to remove them easily without making a huge mess of it.

@WeRNotAfraid - No, I have not recently sought help for my anxiety problems. However, I don’t think noticing these ingrown hairs and being concerned about them is hysterical. I appreciate the suggestion and understand what you’re saying, but I just don’t think I’m being unreasonable in questioning the skills of the operator in this case.

@lluv2zap - Thank you for the information about ingrown "runners.’ I have actually not experienced these since beginning electrolysis. I will call it to my electrologists attention and see if she is able to spot and remove them.

anxiousbee have a look at this video by josepha reina she shws the process pretty well:

I would say the only thing I do differently from Josepha, is I will try and get the probe into the follicle and deliver a couple good shots of blend for it’s kill rate and ability to affect distorted follicles after removing the hair. I know Josepha treats the follicle were possible as well.
