I’ve had three hair removal sessions already and it’s about time for the forth but the thing I’m not too sure about is if I should wait for my thin black hairs to become thicker or if I should get laser done ASAP. I’m not sure whats more important getting the hairs fried when there young or killing them with there plump and black? Ok thanks everyone!
For electrolysis you want them really young. But for laser you want them thick enough to transmit the most amount of energy, without waiting for them to go out of anagen phase. How many weeks since your last session and what area of the body was it? Usually 8-10 weeks is a good time frame to wait but it’s also a bit of a judgment call.
If they are very fine, then you will be wasting a session. They’ll shed but just come right back.
Please provide more information. It’s impossible to comment without knowing what area, how often treatments are spaced, how shedding is each time, what machine, settings, etc.
It’s been about two months and the hair is very thin, actually nowhere as thick as it used to be. It’s almost a quarter of an inch long and it’s thin enough that I can barely see the hair. The area is my chin and the laser is an Alexandrite laser.
By thick, do you mean coarse or dense? If the hair is not coarse enough now, you shouldn’t have laser treatments. You should have electrolysis. Laser only works on coarse hair. The hair needs to be coarse enough to attract enough heat to disable it.
