I have had 4 years worth of laser hair removal. Started with ACL which I learned, and can now verify, was a waste of 2 years time and money. The last two years I have been treated with an alex laser.
I am a male who has had 3 alex treatments on legs for the purpose of reduction. Last treatment was on December 1. The hair has came back less and less with each treatment but somewhat on the patchy side. My question is, how many months should elapse before I can say that the regrowth is complete? I am attempting to decide if I should do one more treatment or quit while I am ahead.
I should add that the area below the knee responded with the most patchiness. The back of the legs appear to have no patchiness but less reduction.
I think it would be helpful to hear from others who have experienced this for their insight.
Hey willmet, welcome to the forums.
Not sure what you mean by your question about how many months for regrowth to be complete. Regrowth as in having one treatment and then waiting for the hair to all regrow for your next is around 12 weeks I believe for legs. If you’re trying to decide how effective it was, then you want to wait at least 6 months with no treatments. Doing another session isn’t going to hurt but if you’re just trying to reduce the hair then it’s up to you. You shouldn’t be patchy though, patchiness means the tech missed places which should not occur especially if you’re just trying to reduce the hair.
Legs have long hair cycles. Generally, you can tell for sure what’s left if you wait about 5-6 months after the last treatment.
Has any male here successfully obtained a reduction on legs? I’m curious as to how it would look (ie. whether it would still look natural), even if the tech doesn’t miss patches.
Yes. Run a search. There have been posters who included photos. Also, look at Osh’s posts on the cosmetic enhancements forum.
