Six weeks ago I had my first LHR treatment on my chest and abdomen. The laser used was an Alex and the results have been good. I still have some minor shedding but the treated area is mostly very smooth. Is this the hair free period? Also, when might I expect regrowth? I thought by now I would have no more shedding and would have seen some regrowth. Any input would be appreciated.
I think six weeks is too short a time frame to make a determination as to the amount of permanent hair reduction. I don’t know what the hair growth cycle is for this part of the male anatomy. Perhaps a hair pro can determine this. I would imagine within 12-16 weeks you would have a good idea about the amount of reduction. Keep us posted as to your hair regrowth.
I believe you are in the hair free period (or at the end). You might bear in mind, you’ve only had one treatment. In several weeks, you’ll have had a bunch of hair coming out and it will appear that there was no reduction at all. From my experience, the noticeable reduction began after the fourth treatment. The bottom line is, it takes multiple treatments which is translated to time and patience.
On this area, you’ll see new hair in the new phase of growth come in over the next 2-4 weeks. Then you’ll need another treatment. Sounds like everything is going well. This area usually needs treatments 8-12 weeks apart.
I had last laser on leg in day 2 of February month. By now I expect to see full hair return. Now ten week and most hair very light and thin. Looks better. Will more return? Do I go again for more removal if it look fine today? Thank you.
How many laser treatments have you had? It would be very helpful if pertinent information was put in the signature part so we don’t have to go on the hunt for this information. Example:
Treatment start date
Skin type/ Area
Age /Male? Female? Transgender?
Type of Laser used? Dates of treatments??
Fine, sparse hair? Maybe you are at the end?
Ms. Dfahey.me very sorry for error. me are male and Start in month of July 2008 now have 3 treatment with alex laser second time in month of november and three time in month of February 2009.
You’re having treatments spaced 1-2 weeks apart in February? I don’t understand…Treatments on legs should be spaced about 10-12 weeks apart.
Cycles on legs are long. So if you had 3 treatments in February, you are still not seeing the new hair come in since it’s not even mid-April yet. Give it another month to judge what’s going on.
We need to know what your goal is. If it’s just to reduce the hair, you may only need one more treatment. But please keep in mind that they should be spaced no less than 10-12 weeks apart. Otherwise, you’re paying for unnecessary treatments that are retreating the same exact hair, not treating NEW hair in a different phase of growth.
I think miller means he/she had one session in July, one in November and again one in February as that would be three in total
Yes, Ms. Leo. Ms. Dfahey my english is poor. I mean what Ms. Leo say. I look for reduction and don’t know if I wait for next treatment in later part of year or have treatment this month. I am satisified but do not know if wait is good. Thank you for patience.
What you need to assess is whether you want to remove more hair or you are satisfied with the reduction you have achieved so far.
The hairs also need to be thick enough for the laser to have a sufficiant effect on. If they are not dark and thick enough, which generally happens if you don’t wait an adequate length of time between treatments, the laser will not be able to target the hair as efficiantly - thus not yielding the results that you wish.
Do you have a picture? Would generally give us more of an idea of where you are with things.
Kind regards,
Benji
Ok, so you’ve had 3 treatments, one in November, one in December and one in February. You should wait about 12-16 weeks at this point and see if you’re still happy with the reduction. That’s how long you need to wait to judge how much is actually gone for good.
