I want to get nice reduction on my legs. already had 2 treatments there using 18 joules. The area is somewhat reduced but I want to reduce it more. The thing is I would want to reduce more the thicknes and darknes of the hair rather than density. Now hear me out here. Would more treatments at lover joules like for example 14 joules be better than using more power ? so what is you guess?
Could that yell better results for what I want to accomplish and that is getting more treatment with lower joules to get this hair reduced in thickness rather than density?
Lower settings won’t do anything to do the hair. I wouldn’t waste the money. Treat at the same settings as before. The hairs will get both finer and less dense. It’s really hard to plan for such specific result. Inevitable, some hairs will be killed altogether.
Dear Hairybastard,
My name is Peter and I am doing the exact same thing that you are, tryin to get reduction on my legs. I’ve only had one treatment so far. The regrowth is normal, except for some patchyness on my lower legs. I’m getting skeptical though, I’ve been reading this forum and there seem to be alot of men desiring a reduction and end up with bad results. I dont even know whether I want a second treatment anymore…but i may continue. Would it be alright if we were to keep in touch through this forum about how eachothers legs end up? It would be nice to have somebody to talk to whose doin the same thing. What kind of laser are you using and whats your skin color and hair color?
hey Peter
Ive already had 2 treatments with gentlease like a year ago. The density is reduced somehow but I would like the hair to get thinner. I want more reduction. I was somehow patchy after treatments but as the time went on hair came back. I definetly has less hair but that’s not yet what I want .I want them to be less visible and would not want to reduce density anymore. I bet that’s not going to be easy but I am willing to take that risk. Like they say hope for the best exept the worst. I will be starting my treatments soon and ask tech to lower joules to 12-14 and I will see how that works. I visit this site fairly often so we we can stay in touch.
I would be using getlease plus. My skin collor is between 2-3 and my hair is dark.
what about you?
How long has it been since your first treatment?
Legs is one of the easier areas to treat. You should get results if you’re using proper laser for your skin type and they’re setting good settings. Please read the FAQs to find out what you should be using for best results.
i know LA that legs area one of the easier to treat and get good results with laser but what we r looking for is a reduction so it looks natural and not patchy and not taking everything off which is a little bit more sophisticated.
I understand what you’re looking for. It’s achievable with precise treatments. Check out posts by jcmccartney on the cosmetic enhancements forum. He is getting his face done which is much more prone to patchiness due to density of the hair there. He had 4 treatments with an iffy clinic at first and was patchy. Then, he went to a professional who’s known in the industry (good for him she was just around the corner from where he lived), and the results changed. no patchiness now.
