Hair reduction - legs

Hi everyone!
I’m new in this forum and i have to admit that you are doing good job, you made me start electro on my shoulders after laser destroyed my life(other story…)
Maybe i will upload photos of my electro sessions later but now i have a question regarding hair reduction on my legs.
Ive read in this forum that one clearance is enough and i wonder if after one clearance the result looks natural with no patchy spots.
it would be much appriciated if someone can upload a photo of legs after one clearance.
photos of my legs are attached

Thank you !!

From my perspective, hair removal from a man’s legs is not a commonly requested procedure. Remember that as you age, you will lose your leg hair anyway (not, however, in a uniform pattern). The hair diameter and color also diminishes as you age.

However, to answer your question … yes, one clearance with electrolysis will render a 40% to 50% reduction of leg hair in a perfectly uniform pattern: not patchy. Be prepared for a lot of time (and money) … probably no less than 50-hours for a “clearance.” One hundred hours might be more realistic for what you are wanting!

Maybe try a “thinning” first (with electrolysis)? Remove, say, every third hair or so and don’t “clear” the area? Such a strategy would be cheaper and you might get the results you are looking for?

Hi bazura,

When you say laser ruined your life, I assume you mean you got more growth than you started with, which is surprisingly not as rare as it should be for that area. However, on the legs, it does not happen at all.

My legs were similar to yours and this is me after 5 or 6 sessions (I’d have to call and ask for the exact number): http://oi59.tinypic.com/17beix.jpg

Yes, electrolysis will work no doubt, but as Michael said, you’re talking 50+ hours for one clearance (and the 40-50% is overly generous for MOST electrologists – it should be that range for all electrologists, but it’s not unfortunately.)

Most electrologists have not had the chance to test their skills in this type of case.

Photos of the legs outlined above belong to a work done by a electrologist with about 5 years of experience, my daughter.

Josefa, in that picture, did the patient have only 1 tx and the post-pic is 3 months after that single tx?

Amazing results

I am so envious. I wish I could have those results.

1 year later and I have total regrowth and lingering ingrowns/PIH.

Thanks for your replies!
First, i’m sorry about my english. i’m trying my best

Michael - If i’m not wrong this way i’ll get only ~17% hair reduction since only 33% of
the hairs are treated and 50% of the treated hairs are disappeared after one clearance.

Josefa - this result is amazing !! this exactly how i want it to be.
can you please share how many hours did it take?

Brenton - I had laser on my chest ,shoulders and upper arms. in all areas i got more growth than i
started with.(i used LightSheer machine)
Your legs look very nice! can you please give more details?
which machine did you use? how long did you wait between treatments?
how long since the last treatment ?( or maybe just send
me a link if you posted here before)

Thank you !

Yo,

Well, I’m not so good at math so not sure of this 17% and 33% stuff. Just this: if Josefa, Dee or “yours truly,” et.al., clears an area (not shaved or waxed or lasered) you can expect a general ±50% reduction in hair count after one full clearance. I will look like half the hair.

I think Brenton was going for totally clear legs and that’s pretty much what he got … good going there for sure. For me, I would worry (actually) about having too much hair removed with the laser. I think what Jossie is showing you is what you are after …

Overall, I do not think there is too much risk of stimulated hair grown (laser) on the legs. Upper body (especially shoulders) … yes!

Oh, suddenly not working again?

Eres un crack Josefa, felicidades y mi respeto.

I think others may curious, too!

Very nice work, Josefa!

Shoulders and upper arms are common for induced growth since hair there is usually finer. Lightsheer is a decent laser but it’s hard to say if anything would’ve been done anyways without knowing the settings (generally, it’s more common to see induced growth with weaker settings).

I used the GentleLASE laser, 18mm spot size, 16J fluence. I treated the area every 2-3 months or so (usually when there was enough hair back that I was ready to treat it again). I would have to call the office since my last leg treatment but it’s been a long time (>1 year).
