Hair plucking without treating by electrologist

Hello everyone,

I wanted to share my Electrolysis experience so far. I am 26 years old and i have only shaved my face ( just plucked chin hair a few times) I started getting it done on my cheek, chin and neck around mid April. My electrologist is an old lady with 40 years of experience. I donot have thick hair. They were fine but noticeably and they were a lot. These were caused after laser. I had 9 one hour sessions so far and was going in every week. Now after electrolysis most of the area is cleared. My issue is that I feel her plucking some hair without even inserting the probe. Firstly she was plucking some hair ( 7-8%). I thought they might me in talogen phase that is why she is plucking them without treating. But today I noticed her plucking lot of hair. Like she is inserting probe in 1 hair but plucking 2 hair. Can anyone tell me the reason behind it?
Also, my face is almost clear now.How far should i book appointments now as it took me 9 sessions to clear the face so the hair will grow at different times.

Thank you.

There arent any GOOD reasons for it.

My guess would be plucking the wrong hair by accident. I’ve done it a few times, either because of bent tweezers from the sterilizer trays at school (sometimes this means they won’t grab near the tip but flex and grab a hair further back), or having some lighter hairs get in the way that didn’t show up under the lamp. Or maybe that electrologist could use better magnification and/or a visit to the eye doctor. But I can’t imagine missing nearly one hair out of every ten and just continuing like that without trying to change anything. Switch to another pair of tweezers (and make a note to sharpen or replace the ones that weren’t grabbing right), change up the lighting to look for lighter hairs, just try something else for crying out loud!

As for your second question, congrats on your progress, but your first clearance is just the start of the really good part. You’ll want to keep coming back often enough to get the hairs in their anagen phase, ideally as early as possible before the bulb has a chance to get fully developed and rooted at its deepest. What’s best for you will depend on the rate of new growth, but you’ll probably still want to get it cleared weekly at least for a bit. Ideally, those weekly sessions should start getting shorter and shorter as fewer and fewer hairs come back each cycle, and then you can drop down to biweekly till you’re more or less done. Maybe monthly if you find yourself down to just a few stragglers, but it gets less efficient as the intervals get longer.

Hi,

Thank you for taking time and replying. Greatly appreciated.
I had an appointment today. I was feeling the same plucking and even for the hair which was being treated. So, I told her. She said sometimes the nearby hair get plucked that’s why.
She then increased the setting and was more careful. It was much better after that. I am glad I pointed it out.
