When doing electrolysis, does it kill the hair no matter what stage of growth it is in? or does it have to be in the Anogen phase (like laser) to effectively kill the hair being treated?
Using the techniques practiced by most electrolysis practitioners, the hairs have the best results when treated in Anagen Growth Phase. Damage will still be done in other stages of growth, that will lead to a thinner weaker hair next time around, if the hair is treated in a different phase.
That said, there are electrolysis techniques that would kill hairs no matter what phase they be in, using electrolysis, but since those protocols involve more pain to the person undergoing the treatment (and the fact that most schools don’t even teach these techniques) almost no one uses them.
In the end, if you can get to first clearance, and go right into maintenance phase, and stick to a good treatment schedule, you won’t need to do anything but treat Anagen Growth Hairs, because that will be all that you have visible at any given time.
Yep to that…One of the “secrets” (besides a good electrologist) to success is consistency in clearing the area.
