Hair growth question...Electrolysis vs Waxing

I was talking to a friend of mine and she was telling me that she needed to get her upper lip waxed. I asked her how long the hair takes to show up between waxing. Though she was not sure she told me it takes several weeks. Then I started to wonder. I am getting electrolysis done every week, and all my hairs that are visible are also being cleared. In her case and mine, the hairs above the surface are being taken, so why do her hairs take weeks to come back with waxing whereas I have a new batch every week?

When you leave your electrolysis appointment, you leave with less hair but the area is not completely cleared so you have hair on your upper lip. You will eventually be hair free but your hair removal is a gradual process where small amounts of follicles are being treated per session.

When your friend gets waxed, the area is completely cleared of hair. She can be hair free in the area for weeks however she will be waxing forever. You will not be getting electrolysis forever as you will be hair free.

when i got waxed before, generally the area would be hairfree completely for only a week or so. after that sparse hairs would already start to come in. this is a bit less noticeable on the upper lip as the hairs are fine at first and there aren’t that many to begin with compared to like the bikini area where this was more obvious. it also depends on how fast your hair grows in general on a particular area. with electrolysis, you’re killing the hairs each time, not just pulling them out with the root. so after consistent treatments, you won’t have any left and nothing will be coming in. you only even need weekly or bi-weekly treatments on this area for a few months. I think I only had a total of 8-10 upper lip treatments before everything visible was gone for good. so bi-weekly for maybe 2 months at most (5-10 mins each time only) and then only once every month or 2 after that. however, if you just wax, you will be coming in forever.
