Hair doesnt want to go !

Hey all, im new to the forum although i’ve been reading it for over an year now.

Ok, so here’s my story (ill make it short as possible)
im 26yo male, very white skin, thick black hair almost all over my body
i tried to go with the Lazer route on the back and shoulders and went throw 12 treatments with “lightshear” what happend is that although the VERY areas went a little thin, i have MORE HAIRS at areas i didnt have, and its thick and ugly and doesnt want to go away!! :frowning: my back and shoulders are hairier then ever, after i noticed the lazer doesnt help i went to an Electrolysis to test how it effect on me, i did 2 treatments on one shoulder only to see if there’s a difference - and there is!! it worked like 20% less hair on one shoulder, but i need to keep going, i dont care it cost alot if i can get it smooth but the problem is that it left me with small white dots scares and i cant allow that  im not sure if the Electrolysis is a bad one or if my skin is to white for this… what do you guys think??
Anyway now im waxing at home (my girl does it for me  she likes me smooth at the back and shoulders and so do i)

Right now my main goals are to get rid (toattaly smooth) the back - which is a huge area, and the shoulders! without scaring…how can i do that ? lazer doesnt seem to effect these areas.

as for other areas - i did my armpits and after 3 treatmens im hapy with the results, also im doing my arms and VERY happy with the results so far (5 treatmens with lightshear and i have thin hair) and im considering doing the chest, stomach and private areas with lazer just to get them thin.

please help me here if you can… my back and shoulders are the worst :frowning:

(sorry for my English, im not native speaker… and if im posting the wrong place please let me know)

Thanks in advance, NotSmooth out

It amazes me how people who do not speak english as their first language, speak better and spell better than native english speakers who speak no other languages. You did great.

Being that you are only 26 years old and very hairy, you are doing this correctly. However, a males back, shoulders and upper arms can be more vulnerable than the lower arms, chest and legs to light-based devises (LASER and IPL). It appears that you had induced hair stimulation on these vulnerable areas. If the hair is too thin and light colored, then electrolysis should be your only choice to remove the hair on your back and shoulders. Do keep on track with good laser treatments, but do LASER for areas where people have had good results. There is a place for both laser and electrolysis for people that need help for several areas. Being that you are a young male, your hair patterns are not fully developed, so you will need to stay with these modalities, as needed, for the next decade or so.

Dee

Hey Dee! thanks for taking the time and answering my questions
I checked the electrolysis forum but it is still not clear if i can go with the electrolysis and avoid scaring, i thought maybe the electrolysis i went to was terrible, but then again, my skin is very white and sensitive, i want to get rid of the hair but not in the price of scaring

Dee, you mentioned that there are some areas that the lazer shows good result, which areas are these? or where can i read more about what areas Lazer work best on? and info would be greatly appreciated.

You might want to try something other than lightsheer as well to see how it works.

Electrolysis, if it is performed properly, will leave you with smooth skin minus the hair. Temporary side effects are not the same as scarring. Many people freak out if they see one little pimple or red mark. Ask your electrologist about any healing situation that you are concerned with. She will know what say. A well-trained, professional electrologist will not scar you. It is hard to scar someone if you are well-trained, very hard.

For men, LASER works pretty well for good reduction on lower legs, chest, underarms, forarms. The areas where we hear a pattern of complaints about is the upper back, shoulders and upper arms where they end up with more hair than they started with (laserinduced hair stimulation). For the beard area, many have complained about patchiness or that marble cake look.

I did the Electrolysis a year ago an there are still scars on my right shoulder,i will post a picture once i get a good camera

That would be helpful. Thank you.

You don’t need electrolysis for any hair that’s COARSE AND DENSE. You just need GOOD laser treatments with a good machine at good settings that actually causes shedding etc (you don’t mention enough about your treatments for us to tell any of this).

For all other hair you do need electrolysis.
