Hair cut off coming back, normal or not normal?

Hello Everyone, i have had electrolysis clearance from a well known electrologist aproximatively 1 month ago and i can see some cut off hair under the skin coming back. Is it normal to have some of those hair coming back as “instant regrowth” if yes, how much is tolerable ?

here is a picture of what the hair look like ( in my case there is not this amount of instant regrowth, but some of them are) http://i1218.photobucket.com/albums/dd410/mikebono/earlygrowth3.jpg

What the pro think of this situation ?

thank you very much for answering my questions

I can tell you we cant tell you much at all without a picture of the area in question not a similar picture. Also I will admit to some hesitance to offering any opinion when you allude to some “well known electrologist”.Something seems shady here.
In fact looking at your usernam. e…Im going to recommend nobody respond to this post.Wasnt “Rose” banned from hairtell?

I don’t know enough information to comment. I would suggest you discuss this with her or him.

I do know that some beginning treatments can look can look just awful, but soon things turn around nicely.

Hello, i’m totally new to this forum. Please don’t analyse my post with false things that is only in your mind, it is not the reality. I’m just asking about a situation that is happening to me. I think your statement is not fair. I do not know rose or the person you talk about. I’m a customer who is wondering what is happening with this reactions. Don’t overreact and don’t prevent people answering my question, it is not normal at all.

I’m telling you again that the reaction i’m experiencing right now is the same that the pictures i sent to you. I know how to recognize if it is the same and i can tell you that there is less ingrown and cut off hair than in the pictures i linked above.

I’m asking my question again, It is normal to have some hair coming back cut off, (instant regrowth) if the answer is yes, how much is tolerable ?
If the answer is no, it would be very helpful to know what went wrong.

Thank you dfahey for your answer, i will contact my electrologist but i wanted to have informations from others professional who are not involved in my treatment.

When you say “some beginning treatments can look just awful” is that means that at the beginning of a proper treatment, it is totally normal to have regrowth like this ? (Ingrown hair, cut off hair= instant regrowth, the electrolysis missed the target area, the hair is not properly treated.)

Fortunately i have less instant regowth that the pictures i showed to you!

Yes, I am referring to proper treatment of the hair.

It could be what you said, instant regrowth? The right amount of energy (timing and intensity) needs to hit a good portion of the hair in order for it to slide out nicely. If you felt a lot of pulling and didn’t see full hair structures, this could be what you suspect it is. Talking to your electrologist may be very reassuring to you and very enlightening for her or him?

Were you a waxer or tweezer or was this a “virgin” area?

Thank you for your answer. I will contact my electrologist and ask the question.
The area was totally virgin, no waxing, shaving, nothing at all.

My understanding is that even for a well experienced eletrologist, it is part of the treatment to have “instant regrowth”. Am i right ? And i don’t understand why you say that at the beginning of a treatment, clients can experience “instant regrowth” ? if this is a virgin area i thought that a well performed treatment was a treatment destroying the hair permanently the first time. ( high kill rate)

What are the real standard of electrolysis regarding kill rate ?

And how much “instant regrowth” is tolerable ?

Thank you very much

I’m sorry. I don’t agree with your focus on instant regrowth.

“One and done” is my approach and I assume that is the approach of other professional electrologists. Treat each follicle well the first time. No breakage under the skin. No under treatment. That should answer your question about kill rate. I’m not aware of any numerical facts to describe how much “instant regrowth” is tolerable.

Overthinking this is not helpful. If you do not feel the hair being pulled out and you can see full hair structures, that is a pretty good indication that the stars are lining up well for eventual, inevitable success.

I’m sorry rose if I confused you. We have had another "rose " here in the past who spoke very similarly to you who launched significant attacks against several respected electrologists on this board. If this is not you, then I apologize, but your nick and that one are very similar.

I’m going to agree with EVERYTHING Dee has said to you. Including that I dont agree with your focus on “instant regrowth”

The reason I asked you for an ACTUAL photo of the area in question is because by seeing the hairs in question we can tell how it came to be that way. Hairs that were out of cycle ( about 90% of growth have pointed tips and thus are NOT regrowth. They are just out of cycle hairs that have come into growth phase. Hairs with end that appear mashed have been broken off in the follicle or by tweezers. Cut ends by razor show up well. But we cannot tell you any of these things if it isnt the exact skin being talked about!

About the only way you would have a lot of hairs broken beneath the surface of the skin would be severe undertreatment, and in that case, you the client would be noticing the plucking sensation and experiencing a lot of blood on your face post treatment.
I think you are mixing up different types of hair, but to be honest, I cant tell you at all what is going on if I cant see a picture of the area. The actual area. Descriptions or “it looks somethinglike this” just dont cut it we cannot make any suppositions as to your treatment.

I don’t think i mentioned my electrologist was in this forum. And no i do not know this person, i’m here to have answer to my question nothing else, nothing more. I spoke with my electrologist. Thank you very much for answering my questions i didn’t have answers to my primary questions but i got anothers which is fine in understanding “the process”.
