I am concerned. I have been having electrolysis on my neck for about 6 months now. The thing that concerns me though is if the hair is being singed or actually removed effectively? I go every 2 weeks for full clearance of my whole neck. She uses microflash with the apilus junior 2 and after treatment i must say my neck is as red and as swollen as a cherry but I don’t feel any pulling on the treated hairs. The thing is though within 7 to 9 days I already have alot of hair growing back which doesn’t make sense to me if I’m getting full clearance everytime I go in for treatment. What I’m trying to say, is when a hair is successfully removed how long before the hair grows back in a weaker form? Or how long before a new hair replaces it?
Need more info. Are you male or female? Front or nape of the neck? Did you tweeze or wax prior to electrolysis?
If treated correctly, the hair is essentially toast.
I would check the method, since according to Dectro the Apilus Junior doesn’t have microflash capability.
Have you visited other electrologists? Have you brought this up with your current electrologist?
I am a male and its the front of my neck . I havent done anythig but had it lasered which was not a success. Oh and my mistake it’s a senior 2. Sorry
That area has deep hairs which can be tough, but that shouldn’t be an issue if you have a competent electrologist. Also, depending on how old you are, you can still be developing more hair there.
It’s hard to say how much progress you’ve had (or not had) without seeing before and after photos. Could you post a picture of your hair?
Re laser: it only works on coarse, dark hair. Hard to say why it failed without knowing your hair type, the laser used, the settings, how many treatments, etc.
Hair grows in cycles that are not synchronized.
The hairs you see in 2 weeks should not be the ones you saw last time, last month, or even 2-3 months ago. As you progress, there should be a noticeable decrease in density of the hair - meaning more space between hairs. That should also translate in an obvious decrease in time spent to clear the same area.
Are you seeing this happen?
I really don’t know at this point? There is deffinetly less hair then when I started and treatment times are alot less. I just feel like Ive come to a stand still now? Like plateuing… The hair really isn’t lessening now. But it could be all in my head I guess?
Don’t back off or get discouraged. If there is hair - get it. New hair follicles are constantly being recruited for some people. You have to keep up with it. I have a few clients that are “finished”, but I still see them 1-6 times per year just for this reason. If your body recruits 4-10 hair follicles per month that is enough to keep you seeing your electrologist a couple to several times per year for short appointments.
