So today I had my first consultation with one of the electrologists I was interested in. She was extremely nice and extremely welcoming of me. We discussed my concerns and I told her that my 2 main areas are my chest/breast/abdomen area and the hair trail that starts at the back of my neck downwards. She took a look and said that my stomach hair isn’t as bad as I make it out to be (somewhat of a relief) and she said that for my hair trail (I’ll just call it my hyena trail =P) she thinks that a few treatments of laser would be good for it, and then we’d just end it with electrolysis. She charges about 60 an hour so I think that’s definately doable.
This is her website btw, any personal opinions would be AWESOME… www.Behairfree.net
I have another consultation tomorrow, it’s free of course, but if she were to do a test patch it would cost me about 26 dollars…I don’t know what to think of that >.<
I tried, but I cannot find the “New topic” button, I think Andrea is the only one with access…
Anyways today I had my 2nd consultation. The lady was very nice (wish I had the card nearby, I’m terrible with names) and she’s right up the street from my school. She gave me some relief as well when she said my hair growth looks hereditary and not imbalanced. Anyways we basically went over the same things. Her office is extremely comfortable since it’s based in her house so it has the “homey” touch to it. She has done electrology for many years as well and seems to have a lot of customers. Really the only downside of this was the price. I am interested in hour long sessions and it would cost me around 78 dollars an hour. Being the college student I am I need to keep within limits.
In the end, I don’t know if I should talk to a couple more in my area, or if I should choose one or the other.
Oh and the lady today said that I shouldn’t shave or do anything to the areas, just clip them in general. Even the ones that aren’t going to be treated right away. Do you have any advice James or Dee?
You’re not mentioning the type of machine and electrolysis each uses. That’s important.
Also, does the hair trail on your back have coarse hair? If the hair is fine, laser is not going to work.
I don’t know how large your areas are and how many hairs there are to treat without pictures, but it took me about 1.5 years to get abdomen area done. And it’s very important to start out aggressively with long frequent treatments to get to a clearance. So I would recommend saving some money before you start to be able to do this. Part time job is a good idea. Also, consider asking for a discount for purchasing multiple sessions up front. Some of my electrologists did it for me. Also, all of my electrologists took credit cards, so that’s an option as well.
If your hair is fine, you can also consider bleaching for a while until you save enough money. I did this for years before I got electrolysis done.
I know the first lady I had a consultion with uses Thermolysis. She seems very confident in her work so I am not too worried about that. What type of electrolysis was used on you Lagirl?
I have pictures in the emotional support area. I got wicked paranoid one day and asked if it looked like I had PCOS -.-. I have bad back acne so please forgive that, but if you look down you will see some of the hair trail on my back that I did not get to shave.
By the way, the “New Topic” button is on the left hand side of the screen, just above the first post thread, just above where it says “Subject/Poster” and right next to the tab that says “Forum Options”.
