I am so grateful for all the awesome group website deals that are making laser affordable. It’s changing my life at a 10th of the cost. If you haven’t been keeping an eye on group deals in your city, I highly recommend it. I have seen treatments that workout to less than 20 dollars a session for major body parts.
HOWever, one of my jumbo pet peeves is that the group deal companies are not good at stating specifics about the laser used. And worse, the laser hair removal companies you’re buying access to often don’t state what the laser system is on their own website. That is really unprofessional to me. It sometimes takes up to 4 or 5 ppl requesting this information on the group buy page to finally get an answer… such a waste of time.
Some of my tips:
-Always find out what laser/ipl the company uses
-Always find out if tax is included in the price and if the tax is on the sale price or “normal price” (i.e. tax on 30 dollars or 300)
-Always find out when the voucher expires (3 months isn’t a great time frame to get six leg treatments)
-Look at the group deal website’s expiry policy - what happens to your deal voucher when the deal expires? Is your voucher now at least worth face value towards normal prices, or is it now worth 0 dollars?
-Look at the group deal website’s refund policy; if you aren’t a candidate for the service after consultation, can you get money back? If the service provider sucks, can you get money back?
-Look at yelp, google, etc. and still try to seek reviews on the service provider, even if it looks like the bargain of the century
That said, even for a not-so-great machine, some of these prices are lower than waxing… it is just amazing to me.
One last bit of advice: rather than getting a million daily emails from each individual group buy site every morning, try to find a website or a company that will send an email with all the deals in your city so you can do a quick scan and not miss deals.
