Gratefulness and question about Instantron

Hello everybody!
This is my 1st post here and my first words are with great thanks to everyone who created this forum, who study hair removal science and share their priceless knowledges with newbies like me!
I’ve been treated my underarms for last 6 years by electrolysis professional and now they are clean. 2 years ago I started my legs and bikini, but I had almost 1 year break, so legs and bikini were treated 10-12 times with professional and still a lot of work left.
After that I left my city for Bangkok and started my DIY way 6 months ago with Biomak Ep200. This is a good machine, but Blend mode soooo slowly. It takes 7-8 sec to kill one fine hair. For thick hair it takes 2-3 times 7-8 sec each. And still I have “overtreated” burn spots. So, I learned the question and now thinking that Instantron Elite Spectrum would be good choice for me.
But two small things hesistate me. the 1st is I have nickel allergy and if the hand-held electrode contains nickel, I have long lasting irritation. What about Instantron, does its electrode contains nickel or not?
And another question is where to buy Instantron? I’m sure there is no one electrosys machine here in Thailand, except one in Yanhee hospital, which Kostic wrote about and my Biomac. So, it is useless to search it here. But I am ready to pay for shipping from any part of the world.
Thanks all for attention and any answers would be very appreciated.

PS. Sorry for my english, I do my best to study it

Hi Tatiana … I’m fascinated with your “6-year” mission on your underarms! (Well, “shocked” would be a better word.)

I’m just now in the process of filming an entire underarm case that will be called “Nicole” … we finished the first clearing in just under two hours. I now know that the entire job will be less than 5-hour (complete and for both: 5 hours). We are actually filming the entire treatment and will “time-lapse” it … so you can see the entire treatment.

So, my question is: how many HOURS did you have in that 6-year period? 5? 16? 50? Curious as “all get out” here. did you only go once per year?

Hi Tatiana,

While I’m not familiar with the particular machine you are using, to a large degree it doesnt matter. The Posative handheld electrode is made of stainless steel in almost all cases. This is because it need to be resistant to corrosion. All types of stainless steel contain nickel to a certain degree. However, the posative electrode is usually wrapped in either a sponge, or I use paper towels, and then dipped into salt water for best conductivity. If the nickle content is still a bother, you could take a hunk of mild steel bar and drill a hole in it for the lead and use it the same way, but I would expect it to rust and have to be replaced often

I feel 24 seconds is too long a treatment per hair. I’d max
out at about 2 cycles. But if you are using salt water on the annode, it shouldnt be necesary either unless there is a problem with your cords or machine. I’m not sure the instantron or any other epilator would make for an improvement, you are better off working on your insertions and making sure your contacts are efficient. Try and keep your treatments to under 20 seconds, use a treat and wait strategy if necessary.

I could probably remove both underarms on the average person in less than 6 hours total over 9 months to a year. 6 years is a little long!

You can order a pure graphite (black) positive hand-held electrode from the Hinkel company; maybe from Texas? … I still have several of them. They NEVER wear out, never corrode and last a lifetime. I have one from a machine made in the 1930s, and it still looks brand new!

(These used to be standard in the industry … the metal rod “took over” because they are cheaper. You get what you pay for.)

Instantron? The best of the best … you cannot go wrong.

Awesome machines … and no BS marketing claims! Straight shooters.

Look, they practically INVENTED electrology … super nice people too. “Go for it!”

Happy New Year all!
Thank you, Michael and thank you Iluv2zap!
I will shock you may be, but I did underarm treatments each 5-6 weeks for first 3-4 years and each 2-3 months last 3 years)))) Too long, now I know it. And I can’t say that my electrologists were not enough professional. The machines they started were old russian machines, very slowly and with low power. As I remember, my first treatment took almost 4 hours for both underarms.
My last specialist uses new model from Cherry (Italian machine), she works very fast in Blend, but 1 year each 4-5 weeks on my legs and almost no result. I was watching when she was treating me and I was seeing that she pull out the hairs lightly, with no efforts. But she worked so fast and I used anesthesia cream, so may be I missed something.
lluv2zap, I do the same thing with my Biomak electrode, I wrap it in a paper towel, than water it with Salin, but it doesn’t help. I read, that I’m not the only one who suffer from this biomak electrode. Something wrong with this machine.
And yes, I tried different modes and power and strategy, nothing helps. Treat and wait sometimes works but tooks also a long time, because I have to go back to the hairs that I’ve treated and treat them again and wait again, then start new ones and forget which of them were treated and which not, so it is going to a big mess and ends up with tweezing )))

Michael, it is a great, that they exist! I mean graphite electrode! By the way, Cherry has hypoallergenic electrode. Not sure, if it is graphite, it looks like grey rough metal.

Finally you inspired me to take Instantron! They have site, I will send them a message!
