good canidate??!?! help!

Hello All -

First let me start by saying thank you to the makers of this website! I am a 26 year old women suffering from facial hair.
It has gotten out of control over the last few years and so this site gives me the opportunity to share my story with thoughs who are most understanding.

I’m hoping that someone will have a look at my pictures and advise if they think I am a good canidate for Electolysis (I’m not sure how to post my pictures)

I am willing to spend whatever it takes to get rid of the hair as I can feel myself falling into a deep deppression and can’t deal with it anymore… :frowning:

My plan is to start bleaching the hair (which I did today and it actually helped to make the hair alot less noticable, although because of my skin tone, I have to be careful not to bleach my skin in the mean time.) I will do this between treatments or as nessassary. I am hoping to get electolysis once every 7-14 days…

Hoping to get some feedback in regards to if anyone thinks this is a good plan, and if my facial hair seems to be a good canidate for the electolysis…If so, what expectations should I have?? If i was to have it done 2-3 times monthly, it is possible to say eventually I can rid myself of facial hair?

I am also planning to see my doctor in the next few weeks to make sure my horomones are normal. Thanks to this site, I am now aware that this could play a factor. If so, should I add birth control pills as part of my treatment?

any feedback would be great! I’ve always had a bit of facial hair which I think was normal (like a mustache) which has been easy to handle with a wax time to time, but my chin, cheeks, and side burns have gotten fair worse within the last year.

WARNING
I know they say shaving doesn’t make hair grown thicker or darker, but I never had this much facial hair until I had to shave my face for Laser treatment. I truly believe shaving the face does make more hair grow darker. The lasering did help but stimulated ALOT more new hair growth. I would NEVER do LASER on my face again.

Happythoughts, I haven’t seen you and I’m not an electrologist, but I’ve had a lot of electrolysis myself. I don’t know too many WOMEN who started out with as much hair as I did. And I’ve shown tremendous progress in the past 2 years (I took a break in between when I loved states).

This is where I started from:

http://www.hairtell.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/67893/Pictures_23_year_female.html#Post67893 (the pictures make me want to cry when I look at them)

And today (I wish I had a picture - soon, I’ll put one up), my chin is smooth. The dark hairs are NOT the norm (they stand out and I cut them off with a pair of scissors) - the carpet of hair is gone.

  1. MOST IMPORTANTLY, if you’ve suddenly started growing a lot of hairs, you most certainly want to see a doctor. It could be nothing. But it could also be something. Whatever the case, only a doctor can tell.

thanks for your feedback! How can I share a picture?

I really do not want to resort to shaving as I am scared the facial hair will start to resemble a mans stuble. as of now it grows dark and long, but is still quite soft to the touch. Have you heard in any other cases the hair changing texture by shaving?

Hair does not usually change from shaving, however, the perception of a change does take place, as the natural tapered tip is shaved away, leaving a blunt ended less flexible shaft, which feels scratchy and thicker, as opposed to the unshaved, tapered tipped hair, which flexes and bends easy, and feels soft and silky to the touch.

the best way to share a picture is to upload it to photobucket, and use the full reply screen to at the image with the image button. You will notice it as the one that looks like a picture. Click it, and it will give you a box to insert the link to the picture web page, and then it will show up in your post.
